hot and stuffy sunday afternoon

weather report from perth: windy and cool *envious*

whole day to myself
to laze and sleep and read
(and clean the house -_-)
while someone is out saving lives

went prawning yesterday
26 bucks
2 rods
1.5 hours
came home with 4 miserable prawns
caught 7 but 3 escaped (dun ask how)
think the uncle is feeding his prawns omega3
they are getting smarter!
they spent more time 'playing' with us than us catching them!

walked along the beach some
love the tangy sea breeze
cant get to most breakwaters but one
love breakwaters
then it was supper at hougang KPT
mutton chop and teh beng
another late night
but slept reeaaal well

Note to Jo: shopping / airport / geylang serai (SY suggested that.. not me!) this wed?! SY and i free... let me know

ahhhhhhh..
my abs are still aching...

so... presenting.... JU'S HOME!

i look at it and see all the possibilities
after playing The Sims for years
i'm finally gonna 'build' my own home

this would mark my 4th house in 3 years
has it only been 3 years?
seem to have lived a lifetime

as a kid, had always like moving house
cos that meant a new room, new beginning
but all my moves hadnt been joyous occasions
the next move is gonna be different
cos its MY turn now
i've come a long way
and no one is gonna spoil it for me!

cant begin to say how much this means to me

oh my gosh.... ju's finally gonna have her own home!
*pinch pinch*

and so it is!

its done.. WE GOT IT!

as unit after unit got snapped up, was getting weary.. zack comforted me: "then that's not meant for us.. God will narrow down to that best unit for us.." and He did!!!

so what's so swell about our new house?

let's see ya...
1) high floor (15 storey!)
2) open field infront
3) some seaview of coney island
4) 3 mins walk to Punggol Plaza (NTUC, foodcourt, banks, clinic, watsons etc)
5) accessible to 2 bustops
6) LRT right smack in front
7) roof garden to bring the dogs
8) cost a fraction less of what we'd have paid for Klang Lane

so whatcha think? *grin*

was 9plus in the morning when we finally got to see the officer and for a heart stopping moment, we thought our unit was taken up.. gosh, it was nervy.. after 3 days of suspense.. it was just sweet sweet victory when we both signed the papers

cant begin to describe that feeling.. unlike our Klang Lane application.. this has a finality to it.. like: "yeah, so this is it" felt a peace.. and just the purest joy

so it should be ard 2 - 3 months before we can collect the keys.. our Christmas present?

simply cant forget that moment when we both walked out of the HDB office after signing all the documents.. hand in hand.. with silly grins on our faces

we got our home, baby! *grin*

is this it?

cant stop talking
cant sit still
cant stomach any food
cant sleep

nerves...

i'm driving the people around me crazy

my nerves had been wrecked havoc
3 long arduous days
disappointments
dished out in small potent amounts
as unit after unit went from blue to red

"ju's like monitoring the stock market.."

then we found this one unit
perfect but not saying anything yet
dun wanna jinx it
8.30am
7 hours more to go..
the verdict will be out!

oh my gosh... we're gonna have our own home!!

the heat is on...

2 units down
2.5 days to go

crap

my insides are all knotted up

Saturday, October 22, 2005

how anti climax can it get..

took me a day to recover

all ready to go to HDB, with documents and all... only to be told that the booking exercise starts on 24 Oct.. and we have to take a blardee queue no. first!!! zack got there like about 12pm and our queue no. is 839!!! my heart plummeted all the way down to the toes of my soul...

our appointment is on thurs morning (4th day of the exercise!). hopes are dashed.. 838 units would be taken up first and what are the odds the unit we want is one of them? and still got the racial quota to worry 'bout.. i cant bear to think.. shortlisting a few other units as well.. if we cant get a unit in this WIS, no idea when it'll be before we can get our own flat.. people: we need all the prayers we can get.. *prays*
more retail therapy?

supposed to go for pilates class
but went for some therapy instead
and bought these :D

dun usually wear shoes like these
but these ballet slippers are so sweet

Friday, October 21, 2005

Walk-in-Selection for Sengkang, Punggol and Hougang Flats Now On!

*SCREAMS*

and we found a unit! and zack is in our unit RIGHT NOW! crap, i wanna be there too! he called me and started describing the view (seaview!).. the flat layout.. and even thinking where we can put our bed in the master room *grrrrr* he managed to sneak past the construction workers and receeing other units as well.. but decided on the best unit... and guess what? its on the 10th storey!

taking half day leave and meeting him at HDB... saying i'm excited would be an understatement *grin*

Wednesday, October 19, 2005

called Ben yesterday.. just to chit chat and touch base.. yak about the usual stuff.. then the not so usual stuff.. noticed a cycle here thru' out the years.. was a comfort talking to my dear friend and as usual, he is spot on.. on almost everything.. so he is either (1) extremely good at what he does - psychology... or (2) he knows me frigging well! in any case, it was comforting.. and encouraging.. things i didnt realise i had in me.. he saw it and pushed me to believe it.. if only i believe i can pull it thru once again.. had to hang up cos i suddenly realised we were at it for 45mins! (overseas call ok..) unsatisfied cos i had to let him go without him explaining certain things to me (he did that deliberately! that skunk just enjoy leaving me in suspense!)

felt somewhat better after
talking to someone familiar
who seemed to understand
popping over for a visit seems real appealing
maybe a change in environment will help
need a break

slept at 8am last night (a record for me)
and guess what?
i still look like crap this morning
all i ask is some peaceful sleep
is that too much?

someone commented that i've lost weight
yeah i did
funny thing is, i'm not even on a diet

*headache*

'orrible night..
desperately need caffeine

had a conversation that brought some stuff to mind
its sad that some people do not marry the person they love most

what would you do if you realise you are not the one she love most?
that there is someone she used to love more than life itself
would you feel like you are second fiddle?
would you accept that and wait for her to love you that same way?
or would you.....?
i dunno...

then again, how do you fault someone for not loving you the way you would like them to..

love really sucks sometimes

just wondering.. i'm no expert

i'm gonna crash soon

Sunday, October 16, 2005

there's nothing better than a heavy downpour on a sunday afternoon (that is only if i'm indoor)

Saturday :
shopping in town.. for a straight 6 hours! Met Ant for some gift-hunting in town (despite aches from my pilates the day before) was dragged to countless of shops to hunt for that gift for his special someone.. then both of us went to meet Carol at Heeren... she got her navel pierced.. if u ask me, every gal should get her navel pierced (so dun ask me) my only regret is not doing it earlier.. so what's next? a tattoo?!!! we were deciding on a navel stud and saw this gal getting a tattoo on her back.. she was clutching her friend like she was in labour pain *gulps* but zack said that pain is tolerable.. hmmm... if only i can find a nice picture.. then...

blowed a hundred bucks (didnt have time to get some nice lingerie.. hai) and wasnt done til 8.30pm, zack picked me up at punggol mrt after work.. with all my barang barang. Tired but sated..

my barang barang:
- bolster (for zack)
- bathrobe
- mini fan (for zack)
- halter top
- 4 beard papa

what i ate for the entire day:
- bowl of cereal
- cup of pao pao cha
- 1 beard papa

not on a diet.. just too caught up with stuff :P night didnt end here.. rest for an hour at home then we are off to Great World City to catch: Deluce Bigolo (European Gigolo) with Andy and Leanna.. was really tired from a day of walking (and shopping) but the movie was entertaining.. mindless entertainment.. just what i need

work tomorrow... hai...

Friday, October 14, 2005

a chauffeur and a present..

life just dont get any better

zack had an errand to run and came round to pick me up from work.. went to compass point for dinner... over burgers and fries, he had this grin on his face and said: "i bought something for u"

I GOT A PRESENT!!!!

guess what it is????

he got me the navel ring i was eyeing on! *screams* so that boy went to Far East to pick this up before picking me up.. no wonder he took so long.. had an inkling he was up to something..

ju is happy.. really happy *beams*

pretty?

not wearing it on a daily basis.. i'm keeping it for special occasions :)

love ya darling... muaks..!

our hopes are dashed...

in the form of this mini dachshund pup

she has the softest richest brown fur like mink.. the doleful-est eyes.. zack said she has blue eyes.. but i still cant find the blue.. little sweetie is going for 3K.. which is way off our budget.. sigh.. last we heard, she's been sold *heartaches*

in any case, we'd better save our dough for our house.. which is taking sooo long! everyday we rode past the blocks of YELLOW and grey flats with anticipation tumbling in our bellies

so.... havent had much of a mood to blog.. nothing much in my boring life.. the usual.. bummed at home.. zack was off the entire weekend which was rare.. in 4 days, only day i saw the sun was on sat..

was up early on Sat and had to wait for ah boy to wake.. for a change, took the LRT and MRT to Hougang Mall for lunch and poor me had to endure zack's grumblings of the waiting time.. blah blah blah.. gotta wean him off his bike.. satisfied my craving for pao pao cha (milk tea with pearls).. ran some errands then to zack's home to collect mails, reached back home at 4pm.. awright, that took pretty long.. rest for 2 hrs then off we went to town! (on bike this time) goodness, its been so long since i went shopping i felt so deprived.. only managed to grab a book and a pair of heels.. saw a really really pretty navel ring and it costed $45! i had to leave it and my heart behind.. *sniffs*

caught the 9.40pm show: Goal! @ PS... oh, i love soccer now and Santiago Munez is HOT! was seriously contemplating becoming a newcastle fan (despite glares from the liverpool fan sitting beside me) but decided the black and white stripes wouldnt look good on me.. oh well...

then it was supper at Thomson Prata House with Andy and Leanna.. only teh beng (iced milk tea) for me.. my favourite bom prata laden with calories? GOD FORBID! didnt reach home til almost 3am.. *yawns* then yakked for another 2 hours before turning out the lights.. for a couple who live together, we sure can yak! perhaps his shift work aint that bad afterall.. i still hate his night shift

right, as u would have guessed.. i'm in a talkative mood today.. back to work u nosey parkers! bleh! ;P

i'm still thinking of my pwetty navel ring....

Your Seduction Style: Prized Object

The seduction game you play is tried, true, and still effective: hard to get.

You know that the best seducers turn the tables - and get their crush to seduce them.

The one running has the power, and you're a challenge that is worth the chase.

You are a master of enticing and pulling back. Giving a little and taking some away.

You are controlled enough to know rewards come after a long seduction dance.

Even though you want to call, email, or say "I love you" first - you don't!

You're style is the perfect mix of hot and cold - so much so that you have many suitors.

Think Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's ... or any of those creepy guys from the Bachelor.

You're skilled at inspiring a chase. The real test is picking the person to slow down for.

well.. my 'reward' came like.... instantly.. so this must have worked for me..
sparks bouncing off the walls.. or maybe a dose of something in someone's kahlua that night? now ya know.. too late!!!

by the way, these quizzes are really crap but entertaining
i'm bored

11pm
think i'd check out
and continue my nightly affair with JD Robb

What Your Sleeping Position Says

You are secretly sensitive, but you often put up a front.

Shy and private, you yearn for security.

You take relationships slowly.

You need lots of reassurances before you can trust.

erm... not too sure on the 3rd point though.. cos the last i checked, it was going at lightning speed!

i open my eyes
i try to see but i’m blinded by the white light
i can’t remember how
i can’t remember why
i’m lying here tonight

and i can’t stand the pain
and i can’t make it go away
no i can’t stand the pain

how could this happen to me
i made my mistakes
i’ve got nowhere to run
the night goes on
as i’m fading away
i'm sick of this life
i just wanna scream
how could this happen to me

everybody’s screaming
i try to make a sound but no one hears me
i’m slipping off the edge
i’m hanging by a thread
i wanna start this over again

so i try to hold onto a time when nothing mattered
and i can’t explain what happened
and i can’t erase the things that i’ve done
no I can’t

it was dvd and ice-cream last night!
we were like only 15mins into the movie when we heard ambulance / police sirens... and zack perked up when he saw the dart team.. well, apparently it meant unusual cases like drowning or jumping without the parachute etc.. another 10 mins went by and curiousity got the better of us.. so we decided to 'take a walk'... paused our movie, leashed up pappe and down we went.. walked round the block.. past the kopitiam.. then saw the red lights flashing in the distance.. round the sharp bend coming into our estate.. was too far a walk and dun wanna appear too kaypo (which we are so!) so we deduced that some bugger must have drove too fast round the bend, upturned the vehicle and caused mass casulties (thus the dart team)

went to supermarket to buy a bottle of kaya (lastest craving is kaya toast) then back home to continue our movie... so disappointing..

and...

HAPPY 15th MTH DARLING!!!

Tuesday, October 04, 2005

never had a worse night
woke up every couple of hours
dreams plague me
then the wind started howling
and pappe started growling
dragged myself up to close the windows
stood at the window with the wind whipping my face
as i watched the trees bow low
for that minute
i wished..

tell me.. how can something so beautiful be so wrong?

Sunday, October 02, 2005

i really need to clean the house.. but its dark outside.. cant see the dirt so no point cleaning right? haha.. shall do it tomorrow when it's bright.. gotta take half a days' leave tomorrow.. got some stuff to settle..

caught Dukes of Hazzard last night (it was real funny by the way) and wanted to check out some punggol units we got our eye on on our way home.. saw something i hope we would never encounter.. a dog was lying on the road.. apparently she got ran over.. we made a u-turn to check things out.. she had already passed on.. there's blood flowing out from her mouth and her eyes were open.. didnt know who to call.. police? anything but leave her lying there.. was sobbing real hard right in the middle of road.. and zack was like: "ju, dun cry.. people's gonna think we ran her down.." anyway, zack carried her to the side and lay her on the grass beneath a tree.. said a prayer and went on our way.. had a crazy notion to bury her but i know thats crazy..

wasnt in any mood to check out any units so we made our way home.. felt so raw.. crap, i'm still feeling the ache..

zack's on night shift tonight.. my first night alone since july.. lonely.. oh i'm so lonely.. well at least there's pappe but she disappeared right after i fed her dinner.. hai.. that gal doesnt know how fortunate she is..

and there's no one to pat my back and soothe me when i get my nightmares.. *sobs*

it was a gathering at Ant's on Friday night.. Ant & Carol, Pohling & Kelvin and Zack & i.. was supposed to be my bday dinner (yeah, like more than a mth late..) dinner was good: rack of lamb, mashed potatoes, sweet baby carrots and brussel sprouts.. and only Ant can make vegetables so sinful.. he drizzled the carrots and brussel sprout with butter!! but i must say anything good is always sinful...

and after more than a month, i finally had my birthday cake.. i'm not complaining.. cos better late than never.. baked by my dearest friend.. Ant! its a blackforest cake by the way.. see the cherries on the top? he soaked them in brandy overnight and it was just awesome! but i still missed my choco chestnut cake.. Ant cant find peeled chestnuts.. was skeptical bout the blackforest cake but didnt dare say anything cos ant will go: "Have i ever cooked anything for you that you dun like!!" (yeah, thats how big his ego is)

only one missing is far away in Perth.. miss u Ben.. (cant find a pic of him in this com to post) think i'll give some background info since u guys have been hearing these ppl quite abit: Ben, Ant and pohling are my childhood friends.. met in Childrens' Church and grew up together since 11 years old.. so we have a wealth of memories.. Ben and Ant are like my closest friends.. the kind of friends whom i will go running to whenever i fall.. the kind who looks in my eyes and say: "ok, something's wrong.. tell me".. and i will go bursting to tears the minute i hear their voice.. there's little i wouldnt do for them.. love these 2 fellows!

yup... so it is.. *grin*

faux pas

went with Ant to Tan Tock Seng Hospital to visit Poh Ling's mum.. she had a mild stroke.. and thank God she seek medical help early and took the proper medications.. hai.. people, take care of your health please.. we forgot to get flowers at Raffles Place so had to make do with what Astoria at TTS offers.. which wasnt much: flowers, soft toys etc.. so we just grabbed a box of butter cookies and a card to go with it.. i mean, isnt this what people usually get for patients..

anyway, we reached the ward, presented our gift.. Poh Ling went screeching (as usual):

Poh Ling: "Hey! why did you buy butter cookies?!! Dont you know my mum cannot eat this kinda things! There's butter and sugar in it u noe...! you bring it back home lah!"

Ant: So she eats 1 cookie every month lah
(yeah, ant and his quirky humour)

Me: *gritting my teeth*

(i'm sure ben will find this scene familiar)

errr... how am i supposed to know stroke patients cant eat butter cookies.. how life threatening can a little cookie be? what are we supposed to buy then? a safer bet: essence of chicken? isnt that heaty and it thickens the blood and when the blood thickens in turn cause another stroke? u tell me.. i'm no dietician... and my specialty is cancer.. stroke is Ant's.. so i pass the baton on to him

but... its the thought that counts.. isnt it?

Wednesday, September 28, 2005

not even 9am and i had to kick some ass.. i really dislike getting all worked up in the morning.. but after coming in early just to have some ppl screw things up, i just had to kick their asses.. felt somewhat better after that.. had a bad night.. slept at 10 plus and woke up with dark circles around my eyes.. feel like i'm gonna snap.. dun feel like doing anything but sleep.. but i cant even find peace in my sleep.. i feel like crap and i sure look it.. and guess what? i dun give a damn!

i just want to be left alone.. why does everyone want a piece of me.. i dun wanna talk anymore.. all i wanna do is sleep... just leave me alone... i'm begging you

Tuesday, September 27, 2005

do you know it costs a whopping $20.75 for 8:16mins of talktime between Bintan and Singapore!!!

Sunday, September 25, 2005

i'm so tired....

in 3 hours, i've:
- sweep / mop the floor
- tidy the house
- wash / hang the clothes
- fold 2 loads of clothes
- wash toilet
- boil herbal soup for dinner
- cook rice

i've yet to:
- iron and change the sheets
- cook 2 more dishes for dinner
- clean the windows
- boil chicken for pappe

and zack will be home in an hours time... and he'll have a piping hot dinner waiting for him! his first day as a full-fledged paramedic.. in other words, taking the calls and running ambulance on his own.. after 20 months of training.. today has finally arrived :) but this also means... its back to shift work again *sobs*...... i hate his night shift :( come to think of it, its not that bad as we both get our own space..

enough blabbering... gotta cook his fav ladysfinger dish and a chai po omelette.. take a nice warm shower and wait for my boy to reach home :)

my herbal soup smells sooooo good.....

starry starry night...

packed a picnic basket and off we go to our 2nd Starlight cinema movie!

Harry Potter: The Chamber of Secrets

were there at 7.30pm and boy the queue was loooong... thankfully it moved fast.. the turnout was much better than last year's starlight cinema @ Fort Canning.. good for the organizers but definitely not for the spectators.. we were an hour early and were almost at the rear.. screen was huge so it wasnt too bad.. managed to get extra tickets for Ant and Carol and they were supposed to join us but couldnt make it at the last minute.. *bummer*

waiting for the movie to start... check out the skyline.. it was awesome..

we were both hot and sticky even before the movie started

our pinic basket! hotdogs.. (even our fav sweet thai chilli sauce.. hehe).. pringles.. packets of drinks.. etc.. surprisingly, only found 1 other couple who packed a picnic basket.. the rest came with bags of food from fast food restautants and supermarkets... we only dine in style *smirk*

packed our little gal there too! actually, no dogs were allowed but managed to smuggle her in..

pappe has her little goodie bag too... all her favourite snacks to keep her occupied..

but she drove us nuts with her preference to the grass than the straw mat... got herself smelling of grass... hai..

took some screenshots... of Harry....

and Ron!

and the 3 of us! didnt stay for the 2nd Movie: Prisoner of Azkaban though... cos it was mighty uncomfortable sitting on the ground with no back support... and we couldnt really concentrate on the movie cos people kept walking back and forth *distracting* plus zack has to work the next day and need his rest.. but its the whole outdoor picnicy experience.. that makes it memorable

our 2nd starlight cinema! *beams*

by the way, there werent a single star in the sky...

mistaken identity

my neighbour had their main door splashed with red paint by those financial institutions aka 'da er long'... they also wrote on the wall next to it:
"12-412... O$P$!"

and guess what? my neighbour's door number is #11-412

goodness gracious... doesnt da er long qc check their 'employees'?? i think they should at least know the basic numbering... and after so many donkey years, its still the same old slogan "O$P$"... please go for some skills upgrade training can..

head has been heavy.. spinning.. seriously contemplating taking half-day leave today but decided to save my leave... i feel terrible.. need a good long rest.. sometimes, even dressing up to go out seems like an effort.. just wanna barrel in my cosy bed and sleep the day away...

by the way..
i got free tix to Sunday's movie!

Thursday, September 22, 2005

starlite.. starbrite.. first star i see tonite

saturday night fever.. movie marathon.. 2 movies til past midnight.. and i got free tix!!! *grin*

STARLIGHT CINEMA @ PADANG

cant believe a year has passed since our last starlight movie... it was Van Helsing at Fort Canning last year.. zack didnt have his bike then and we took the train to Fort Canning.. with all our barang barang (straw mat and all) *grin* we packed a picnic basket of hotdogs, chardonny (yes, with my precious crystal wine glasses too!) grapes, snacks.. it was one of our first dates and we were still so shy... hahah... i remembered wearing a short skirt and spent most of my time making sure i was decently covered.. hah.. it was fun and sweet and romantic.. :)

bringing pappe this time.. just hope she can sit still through 2 movies.... hoping to get tix for the Sunday show: The Skeleton Key which would only be out in Oct *fingers crossed*

"with the approach of Hurricane Rita.... the Marsh, Mercer, Guy Carpenter and Kroll's offices in Miami are closed today." Why are hurricanes or any natural disasters always named after women?

ok, dun answer this

did i mentioned i received $100 tangs voucher from Pam (hr regional director)?! in appreciation of my hard work for the regional conference... gosh.. i feel so... so touched.. appreciated *sobs*

anyway, this year's D&D is in Nov... heard that the theme is gonna be MTV!!!! woohoooo...! gotta plan on what to wear.... hmmm.... somehow i keep seeing.... mini skirts... below knee stiletto boots.. slick, chic and HOT!!! oh oh! maybe i can use my vouchers to buy my boots! my hair?? staight, black with magenta streaks... makeup? dark eyes, bloodred lips... jeez, dark vampy look... or maybe i'll go for glitter and glamour look.. yeah, that'll suit me better..

i'd better start losing that blardee 2 kg!!! no less and anything more, i'll be underweight and lose my boobs... tough choice.. boobs or slender bod?

crap... i need to go fix my hair soon... and i need dough!!! as what the british would say... BOLLOCKS!!

Sunday, September 18, 2005

going for some 'lantern carrying' @ Punggol Park!!! gotta go get ready!!!! *skips*

aiyah.... i didnt buy any lantern....

and i see white...

had an embarrassing incident yesterday.. zack and i were at compass point for lunch and to get some errands done.. lunch at the kopitiam upstairs.. i went to get my food and while i was queuing for my fish soup, i see white (literally).. ears got blocked.. and before i knew it, i went down.. yeah, i blacked out.. right in front of the fish soup stall! (so paisay u noe...) when i came to, ppl were helping me off the floor and this lady was rubbing medicated oil on my temples.. and she very kindly get zack who was sitting at this high counter table and was thankfully very conspicuous.. and thank goodness my mandarin didnt fail me and i remembered how to say 'grey' in chinese (the color of zack's shirt)

and of crse, it just proves again how handy to have your personal paramedic by your side *grin* he checked my pulse (cant remember was it my blood pressure or sugar level that was low).. asked me many times if i hurt any part of my bod when i fell (like i can remember).. he looked so worried and didnt wanna leave my side to get his food... that i wanted to joke and say the worst that can happen is that he will come back and find me with my face in my rice.. then i thought better of it.. hahaha

and i really wanna thank that lady in yellow who very kindly passed me her medicated oil and get zack to me.. we didnt managed to find her in the crowd after..

crap... and now i'm sore from my fall...

duty call's over

got everyone all packed and safely at home... in their respective countries.. it was tiring, exhausting coordinating this regional hr conference, but at the same time.. insightful, challenging and i really did enjoy it.. never did expect anything but when i'm at the receiving end of all the smiles.. "juliana, thank you for everything..", "you did an excellent job!"... just did something to me..

didnt think i'd say this.. but i miss them! Dai's 'friendship' - its sake really (Japan) , Wang jian (China), EunMi (Korea), Belinda (Taiwan), Bessie (HongKong), Pam (our HR regional director), Christina (Msia) and Kadambini (India) drove me nuts with her fussiness on food, had a nightmare planning her food (she's indian vegetarian: meaning no meat, no fish, no eggs) and of crse Carol and Mona (Hong Kong) - i like carol cos she said i'm beautiful... hahaha

brought them out for dinners and shopping at orchard, night safari etc... it was all good.. the interaction between people from across miles a thousand.. the different cultures coming together.. mighty interesting.. it was all good, really good.

duty call is over.. back to catching up on work in the office.. its a never ending vicious cycle.

Friday, September 16, 2005

tell me when it's over and i'll open my eyes

helleva week... (pardon my language)
nope, its not over... there's another presentation to arrange this afternoon at 4.30pm. Its not even noon and i'm having a pounding head, yawned for the zillionth time, ran more than 2.5 km around the office.. and my stomach is feeling queasy.

Wednesday, September 14, 2005

exhausted to the bone but i cant sleep

so many can talk the talk
but how many can walk the talk?

i surprise myself once again
many facets a person have
i've found another of mine

i feel more than i ever thought possible
i dun wanna feel this way
but i do

wish today never end and tomorrow never come

tough week behind and tough week ahead.. was so up to my neck, no.. more like over my head... never been so stressed for awhile... oh well, welcome to the working world.. stress, anxiety, restless nights, pounding head.. worrying, worrying and more worrying... almost didnt make it... found my tears and screams all choked up in my chest more than once... asked myself, can i survive for one more week?

hai...

we'll see...

let's get on to something less depressing..
went to hdb yesterday to check out the showflats... the 4-room flats are minute.. the bathrooms were so small zack couldnt even stretch his arms out fully.. awaiting the Oct launch with abated breath.. if all goes well, we will prob have our little nest all done up early next year!

"there are a thousands stories in the land of Narnia.. the first is about to be told"

.... so i was walking to work this morning... sun was shining but there was nothing sunny about my disposition. The sky should be raining to match my mood.. i'm so not a morning person.. A bus zoomed past and the ad on it caught my eye... i was stunned and i screamed!!

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA....
adapted into a movie!
i love the books... i must have read the entire series at least 5 times.. all 7 books of it!
22 Dec... i cant wait! *skips*
i'm gonna book the tix WAY in advance *grin*

but wait, shouldnt The Magician's Nephew be first? That book tells of the birth of Narnia.. they're bypassing the first and going on to the second.. sheesh.. but its awright, i'm still happy *grin*

awright, for the sake of those who goes.. "Narnia who?"... its this series of books written by CS Lewis in the 1950s.. children books if u must know.. as classic as Great Expectations.. depicting stories of the Bible.. 7 books in all.. thought it was symbolic cos God created the earth in 7 days.. the first book speaks of the birth of the world (Narnia) and the last book about the end of days where false prophets rule the world and the second coming of Christ.. and of course Jadis, the white witch personifies satan and Aslan the Lion, Jesus.. But it was told in such a palatable way so you just cant help getting hooked.. i know i did

just hope the movie does the book justice.. they hardly do

i thought i would never see the beginning of the weekend

tough week..
madhouse everyday, rushing from task to task
temper seemed to get shorter by the days
2 days of rest before the cycle continues
wouldnt see sunshine for the next 2 weeks

so let's see whats in store:
payroll and spp (final batch) next week
yes a week earlier...
and coordinating Regional HR Conference
then attending this conference the following week..
for 5 days! which includes entertainment
mighty good thing i'm coordinating it
so i pushed for more f&e for the foreign delegates

and not forgetting all the pesky knick knacks i'm always laden with
i'm so up to neck i cant hardly breathe
add restless nights
and we got a lovely dish...

wonder how i will pull thru

i need my rest.. so its johnny walker tonight
but i need my food now... *stomach growling*

had lunch with david.. our most intense conversation by far which of course entails some bitching about work... while i sweated under my jacket over my fish soup.. then i must endure another 15mins at YaKun under the sweltering heat while david lim kopi... i seriously do not understand why ppl like to lim kopi after lunch at yakun when its so frigging hot!

busy week... but i managed to get some stuff which had been sitting around settled.. had an overdose of adrenalin this morning.. energy pulsing in my veins.. and i thought my hands were shaking.. was caffeinated! but i needed that.. lousy nights.. rapid brain activity and an exhausted bod was a lousy combi

time to go off... dinner with ant.. i think someone is planning some cigar puffing... decadent lifestyle.. tsk tsk *shakes head*

hohoho... Christmas is coming!!!

my lazy bum at 7am

a fool of everyone

mashmallow for a heart i've got
and a crystal clear mind
i'd waited... in pain, in vain
i decided.. to move on
i did... not looking back
no regrets i told myself
innate strength or just plain stubborn pride

1 year it has been..
you came back and want a piece of me
that piece that was offered again and again
that piece you rejected again and again
i cried but you didnt wanna see
i cried but you didnt wanna hear
this piece is no longer mine to give
it belongs to someone who love me so
that someone who pick me up
and holds me dear

i'm no player
not from one guy to another
thats not my style
i live by my rules
i stick to my guns
i'm true to myself
i'm true to my heart

i loved with all my heart
then
dun hate me when i walk away

i've given all i had to give
cherish it and think of me sweet
what we had was beautiful
in time we will meet again
not as lovers but as friends
in me a friend you will always have
in me a special place you will always sit

dun say no to what's ahead
a better one is out there waiting
i have found mine
someday you will too
but please do know
i've always, always.. thanked God for you

i love you.. in the purest sense

"Take my photo off the wall
If it just won't sing for you
'Cause all that's left has gone away
And there's nothing there for you to do

Oh, look what you've done
You've made a fool of everyone
Oh well, it seems likes such fun
Until you lose what you had won"

went to Lawry's for dinner with Simon last night
(dun scream, u heard right, Lawry's @ Paragon)
the place i had always dream of dining
starters, main course.. then dessert came
the last dinner he said
then it all came loose

one years worth of angst and heartaches
regrets and second chances
grief and love and loss
fighting hard for someone he said he never would
someone he had been waiting for this past one year
cant say the things he wanted to hear
but inside me i kept repeating..
"why now? why wait until its gone..?"

bad timing, more misses than hits
thats what we put it down to
nonetheless.. it was heart wrenching
nothing for me to say
but sorry to have caused you so much grief

was never my intention to hurt anyone
somehow i did with my decision
i hurt deeply for the people i've hurt
i wish i cant feel the pain
i wish i can walk off without a glance
but i cant... just cant

all i hope now is that time will heal.. all wounds, old and new
and no regrets... whatever decision made, dun ever regret

(and if you must know, the steak was awesome.. i couldnt enjoy dessert though)

meeting zack for lunch *grin*
vietnamese food! woooohoooo....!

our night of sin

what starts with the letter 'C'?
i've had many guesses
car, condoms, cat etc..
no one ever came close

CIGARS!
rum-flavoured and chocolate-flavoured
12bucks per stick
it was more costly than a pack of cigarettes!
tempted to buy the box which consists of irresistable flavours:
cherries and cream, cinnamon, vanilla, rum, cognac & chocolate

so my 1st stick of nicotine+tobacco was a cigar.. almost didnt managed to puff cos zack was adamant about it... but of crse i turned on my full charm so u noe... *smirk*
neweis, my initiation to tobacco was alright.. as i cant inhale.. the only fascinating part was puffing as much smoke as possible and tasting the flavour off my lips...

that was how we spent our friday night... in sin! *shake head* cigars and johnny walker... let us pray and repent now children.. of crse this is only a one-off occasion (cos we both dun smoke).. though zack enjoyed the cigars, said it was better than the ones he smoked before.. i really do wish to try the cherries and cream.. but i gave my word that i wouldnt... hai...

been a while since we sat down with friends and chill out... my last was with Ant, Bris and Sam at Dempsey (a year ago!) find a good jazz bar, sit down for a drink or two... awesome! (and perhaps cigars too?)

"i say: pass the Dutchie on the left hand side.."

hint: it starts with a 'C'

yesterday came and went...

but it was on my mind

the day i grew up prematurely
the day when everything start to fall apart
the day i held your hand as you left me
the day i whispered one last time in your ear.. i love u mi

i wish so much...
to see your joyful face
to hear your robust laughter
to feel your arms around me
that u could meet zack.. i know you'd love him

lamented last night that u left just 5 days short of your 50th bday
i questioned why couldnt God prolong it
zack answered: "He wanted to give her 5 more days of peace.."

but i still miss u...

Wednesday, August 17, 2005

"i've got breasts, dun mess with me!"

specky gal bakes awesome cookies

first and foremost.. i say my thanks

to all who bombarded me with bday greetings smses and calls... to ant who called me from perth.. to those of u who didnt, its alright... i still love u :D

Our 2-hour stint as Tai Tais
to jo, siying and yy who spent my bday with me.. siying who took leave just to accompany me in my fantasy of living like a tai tai for an afternoon.. the foursome had high tea at Rose Veranda in Shangrila.. their selection of tea was impressive! 100+ variety to choose from.. we each chose a kind and our small table was laden with 4 big pots of tea.. sipping tea, nibbling (more like stuffing our face) cakes.. catching up on 'stories'.. big cushiony chairs.. we ate til we nearly burst.. had to leave earlier cos zack picked me up earlier than planned (dun shoot me!)

At Rose Veranda - Shangrila

tai tais in the making..

i love this teapot set... my granny's garden tea was lovely

and of course to my sweetie for being there for me.. for celebrating with me in the midst of his tests, attachments and evaluation... for taking time off to hunt my presents.. thank you sweetheart *hugz*

24 now...
seem like yesterday i celebrated my 21st at east coast
told myself that this will be the last bday 'celebration'
no more bdays for me henceforth
i'll be 24 every year
haha...
(i'm not kidding)

peering into the early morning sky
her eyes are dry but damp inside
with a throaty laugh that never meet her eyes
she sings a song that uncle love has never known

in riches and rags, she rode that street
loved by a sun that warms her heart
while the twinkling darkness pierced her soul

she hid her eyes
she closed her heart

so now she reads and fly away
to that magical land she'd always known
with spells and potions
to mend that bridge
she sits along the river bank
and sings her song

Wednesday, August 10, 2005

smses and calls started pouring in just shy of midnight
and for the entire morning
was surprised, seriously
didnt expect so many to remember
*touched*

12.45pm
gosh, finished my first draft of my payroll register.. in 3 hours!

meeting the gals for high tea!

Thursday, August 04, 2005

blah blah blah

sheesh, my home line is down so cant use my dialup.. which means to say my pc has been untouched for the past week... using zack's pc (cable) but its just not my pc... the feel is different somehow... u know what i mean ya

finished Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code.. not surprised of the controversies this novel had generated.. disturbing coming from a christian perspective.. cos he married fiction and non-fiction perfectly its hard to tell one from the other... in fact, found his Angels and Demons equally good.. i guess the reason why The Da Vinci Code was the talk of the town was primarily cos of the religion (christianity that is) it evolved around.. and they are making a movie out of it! as a christian, i must say it is disturbing.. very.. zack told me to pray everytime i read the book.. haha

ant's in perth... for 2 weeks *idiot* and wouldnt be ard for my bday *glare* i wanna go too....! hey, why dun u send me an airticket as my bday present? ok, cum christmas! on ya? its winter there now... lovely cool weather... and i wanna see ant's lab pup too! sheesh, i'm getting excited over something which will not happen

ant: please buzz ben and ask him "WHERE HAS HE DISAPPEARED TO?!"
and while u are at it, can you bring back some sausages too?
oh! sorry, please dun... i'm not eating pork...
cos "pork is the no. 1 killer... high in cholesterol... gives you high blood pressure.. etc"
(there goes my char siew... and sausages... and.. and ham... *sobs*)

i dun see someone forgoing seafood *pout*

VOICES TOLD HER TO PUT HER SAVINGS IN OTHERS' MAILBOXES

got this off TodayOnline...
---------------------------------------------------------

RESIDENTS of Block 728, Clementi West Street 2, were pleasantly surprised yesterday when they opened their letterboxes to find, among the usual bills, a $50 note.

Some thought the money had come from the Government. Others figured someone in their block had struck it rich in the lottery and decided to share the wealth.

As it turned out, the money had been put in the letterboxes by Ms Lau Chee Ching, a resident of a nearby block.

Today has since learned from her family that the 32-year-old woman suffers from a mental disorder. Ms Lau said that yesterday, she had heard "voices" telling her to put money into letterboxes. She proceeded to a nearby teller machine and withdrew $3,000, which she slotted into the letterboxes at Block 728.

Two well-meaning neighbours who were aware of Ms Lau's condition rushed to the block to try and retrieve the money. But they were shocked to find some residents not only unwilling to return the money, but so eager to fish out more $50 notes they tried to pry open other mailboxes.

The neighbours also put up two notices, explaining how Ms Lau was not fully aware of her actions, at an adjacent lift lobby. In the notice they asked residents to return the money.

But as of last night, only $300 of the $3,000 had been returned to the family - $200 by a postman who spotted the notice and another $100 by two residents, one of whom was a teenager.

When Today visited Block 728 yesterday, Ms Lau was still at the foot of the block.

She was mumbling repeatedly in Mandarin: "My money is gone."

According to neighbour Goh Ong Seng, who helped Ms Lau make a police report last night, Ms Lau had given out money accumulated from previous jobs and set aside in her personal savings account.

However, she lost her job two weeks ago due to her mental condition and has not been employed since.

Said Mr Goh: "She worked in a factory, but due to the stress and the noise, her illness got worse."

Ms Lau, the youngest of six siblings, is being treated at the Alexandra Hospital, which she visits every three weeks, accompanied by one of her neighbours, for a check-up and to collect her medicine.

Her mother told Today that losing her job three years ago had brought on a bout of depression, which led to her illness.

Said Mr Goh: "(Ms Lau) doesn't come from a wealthy background. $3,000 is a lot of money to the family - her mother can't walk properly and she needs the money for her own treatment.
"Those who found the money should return it to her. I don't understand how they can spend the money with peace of mind."

--------------------------------------------------------------

can you beat that?!! *mortified*
that makes it 2 decent people out of 56!
i stand in awe of those people.. their ability to sleep with nightmares plaguing them

sometimes, i'm just ashamed to be called a Singaporean

what's wrong with us?

i broke a precious moment waterglass figurine couple of days back
and zack broke a pot of plant this morning
(i love that plant, artificial it may be...)

Lovely weekend
zack had class on sat morning (so poor thing hor) while i get to sleep in! imagine warm and snug while it pours outside
woke up at 11 and cooked some noodles while waiting for zack to come home.. gosh, how i wish i can come home to a nice hot meal too!
spent the afternoon snug in bed, reading and napping (pouring outside) *shioks*
went Expo in the evening to check out some Home deco exhibition.. some ppl sure can talk your head off! thank goodness we didnt bring our floorplan along but i must say our knowledge about interior designing & reno went up a few notches
then its off to thomson for my bomb & cheese prata!!!
i'm sated *satisfied smile*
caught Stealth at J8.. was ok, not the blow-your-mind kinda movie

Sun was rest day
spent it sweeping/mopping the floor, washing toilets.. and cooked a nice dinner (doesnt sound too restful uh)
american ginseng chicken soup, steamed snapper and (the ever present) lady's fingers.. this pot of soup costed $10 but it was good! good for rejuvenating the system
tough week ahead for zack so packing him off with brain food and herbal infusion

i need some infusion too
blood infusion that is
pounding head

Friday, July 29, 2005

ahhhhhhh......

i feel like Thomson bomb and cheese prata

WONDER WILL ANYONE BRING ME TO THOMSON TO EAT MY PRATA..???

Wednesday, July 27, 2005

two church mice building their home..

been reading up on housing loans, reno loans.. and what not.. have always hated numbers but somehow, doing the math now seems fun (depressing as well) so perhaps my aversion to numbers is selective

our nights are spent huddling on the couch, poring over home deco mags.. endless conversations on home deco themes.. zen? balinese? or a melting pot of a few? boy what dreams we have.. and of course the word 'budget' is always looming at the back of our heads..

feeling the weight of responsibility, monetary wise.. building a home in singapore is definitely not easy.. more so when our financial help is minimal so the bulk of it weighs entirely on us.. no doubt it'll be cheaper to start a home elsewhere.. in aussie, u can build a split-level house for 200k! a fraction less of what we will be paying for our 5-room unit! but thats just geography.. its not about finding a cheaper place to live in or a richer man to marry.. why escape to where life is purported to be easier instead of staying and make something good out of it.. there'll always be a better deal out there but the best is what you've decided in your heart.. why chase a lifestyle? when its that person holding your hand, walking beside you.. that person you love with all your heart.. working hard alongside with you.. that makes it all worthwhile.. that makes even the bleakest place on earth shine

i'd rather live on bread and water and be happy
then feast on caviar and champagne and be miserable
(i've always liked my milkbread)

what's wrong with the world, mama?

its always depressing reading the news in the morning

bomb blasts in (1) Eygpt (2) Iraq (3) London

all within a few weeks... its total madness. Caught the London news in Bintan, was glued to CNN every night.. when the police commissioner came out to give a statement, knew there and then the guy was innocent.. whatever can be said about the chaotic state in London, it was just inexcusable to pin him down and fire 5 shots in his head.. its, its like.. whatever for?!! personally, i feel very much for this 27 yr old chap.. the way it happened was totally uncalled for.

and N.Korea and US are at it again... they prob can ding dong for the next 20 years and get nowhere..

some home news
Jetstar Asia and Valueair has merged and operates under a holding company.
guess what it's called..
Orange Star
????? (whatever were they thinking of?! Sunkiss orange?)

People living like they aint got no mama...

Sunday, July 24, 2005

its not even noon on a sunday morning and i'm awake...

why?
cos i got woken up by that bozo ant!!
well, since i cant get back to sleep so here i am blogging..
to ease off the excitement the past few posts had been generating :D

got back from bintan @ 8 last night... its was great Great GREAT!
sunburnt, aches, blue blacks..
Pyramid, Flying Fox, GO KART!!
Go Karting : was outta the world.. the exhilaration.. the speed... i'm beginning to think i shldnt drive... i'd be a complete reckless terror on the road
was the first to zoom off, accelerated all the way & had my 1st spin in 5 secs.. crashed through tires.. veered off many times.. the guys working there had to tell me to slow down upteem times *LOL*
The Pyramid : imagine climbing 7 - 10 storeys of obstacles (akin to OBS) and then the Flying Fox at the end of it... i was scared shitless but never been more liberated! that adrenalin pumping in my veins got me high!

but was real happy to be back home cos i miss my babies tons! Had a late dinner @ Taokee (beef horfun!) then caught the midnight show : The Island @ PS with Andy and friends.. it was Jalan kayu prata thereafter.. got back at 4 plus and completely dead beat..

alright alright... shant beat ard the bush... i noe this is what everyone is interested in right?
"are u getting engaged?!"
"he proposed already?"
"u getting married?"

been bombarded with questions since i got back.. well... no no and no
we are not getting engaged..
zack did not propose..
and we are not getting married..
and i am NOT PREGNANT!

WE JUST APPLIED FOR A FLAT! (have the silliest grin on my face)
(and that wasnt a proposal in any form by the way)

zack made a booking on sat while i was having indoor discussions in Bintan :( he was msging me throughout the whole process and miles away in Bintan, my stomach was doing somersaults.. wish so much i could be with him but... nope, i gotta sit in a cold room telling my colleagues why i tot we should all hold hands together and work as team *tongue in cheek*

cant describe the feeling when zack msged informing me that the booking was completed and we are on our way to a new chapter of our lives..

am so excited i cant breathe..
but at the same time, calm..

Wednesday, July 20, 2005

dun throw rocks at me (unless it's those that glitters)

i'm going Bintan tomorrow!!!

not for leisure though..
its Marsh Teambuilding and it'll be 3 days of indoor activities... outdoor fun.. flying fox.. GO KART! seafood dinners (not again..) kelley and i had plans to do some sunbathing but the programs start at the unearthly hour of 8am! nevertheless, bringing my tiny orange bikini which is great for sunbathing (just in case)

kinda looking forward to it if not for my awful flu yeah, sick again...
now i wish i didnt have to go.. cos zack and i had plans on saturday to settle some very very important stuff.. now that i'm away, he is doing it on his own *grumbles*

tons to do now cos leaving the office at 3.45pm to settle some very very important stuff...

cooking a nice dinner for my baby before i leave...
and again, i've yet to pack my bag....

Monday, July 18, 2005

i'm all tied up in knots.. and i'm loving you lots n lots..

am about to make one of the biggest decisions of my life

am i sure about this?
i can never be completely sure but i know i cant imagine growing old with anyone else other than you..

i'm excited but at the same time.. terrified

Thursday, July 14, 2005

checked out the units and the view at Klang Lane last night.. view was lovely but the surroundings leaves alot to be desired.. layout seems good too... weighing the pros and cons of living there

pros:
- prime location (5 mins walk to mrt)
- excellent view
- breezy and airy
- affordable
- high level units available

cons:
- next little india
- air not as fresh (unlike punggol)
- smell of spices (lower level units)
- loadsa banglas on sunday (noisy)

then we checked out the nearby Farrer Park Rd units... goodness gracious, i would just die to live there!!!

pros:
- mrt right smack at the door step
- excellent excellent view! (entire town area)
- quiet surrounding
- condo like
- affordable!
- one 15-storey unit available!

cons:
CHINESE QUOTA FULL! @$#^%&*^*&

ahhhhhhhh.....!!!!!!

then again, we're only looking..
felt so grown up checking out units
or have we truly grown up?
seemed like awhile ago we were still living in our parent's place
now we're on our own
well, almost..

how do you know when a guy has a love interest?

he carries a box of smint around and usually wouldnt go pass the 1st box.. thats about how long it will take him to get the gal (if he is good)

No Smint No Kiss!

Monday, July 11, 2005

finally blogging.. its been some weekend.. didnt sleep enough though.. been nursing a headache.. many stuff to blog but only the important ones... first and foremost:

we celebrated our 1st YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!

on 7 July :)
went prawning the night before (wed) again! they close early at 10 so we only had an hour. Caught 9 prawns this time which was pretty good.

worked on one of his present the minute we got home.. then at midnite... i got my presents!!! 2 of them were completely unexpected (in fact, all 3) but 2 of them were gifts he mentioned he would never buy cos its a waste of money.. so imagine my surprise when i saw them.

1) a teddy holding a heart.. when u press his leg he goes:"muuuaaakkssss! i love you!" it was so cheesy i couldnt stop laughing and of crse, couldnt stop fooling ard with it.. and hug it to sleep every night :)
2) a precious moment figurine!!!
3) a big fountain.. where we will put our guppies! we've always wanted an aquarium but couldnt cos godma wasnt too psyched with the idea.. so now we have a little fountain aquarium :) and i've found a place to put it or maybe keep it for our future home. heh

was so tired i dozed off in the midst of giving zack his presents :( felt terrible cos prepared them a while back and was excited to give it to him but the presentation was kinda messed up :( got him:

1) CK Crave cologne: cos this was the scent he wore when we started dating.. a whiff brings back so many lovely memories :)
2) a zondervan leather-bound study Bible: was so difficult getting 2 copies (yup, got one for myself too) cos it was sold out everywhere.. hot stuff! its been a wonderful year and may God guide us in this relationship every step, all the way... and the first verse we turned to was Matthew 20:25 (sermon on sat)
3) a photo album: printed 1 years' worth of pics and reprinted some (siying would noe ;P) we have accumulated so many pics and i gotta be selective cos i only can have max 120 pics.. got plenty of help with events and dates from this blog... now u see why i blog down every event!
had you like your gifts dear...

had dinner at Mt Faber The Hill Bistro. Had a spectacular view! wasnt too breezy but the setting was pretty romantic.. the food was ok, steak i had was good though.. we shared this apricot brandy and it was good! albeit a little pricey.. wouldnt go there for meals but a drink or two would be nice.. we then spent some time at The Point.. just sitting there looking at the vast expanse of skyline, enjoying each others company :)

wouldnt believe where we went after dinner.. had been checking out on showflats and went to rackey some executive apartments at punggol (no, we are not getting a flat).. yes, at like close to midnight! we were sitting at the garden, feeding mosquitoes, checking out which apartments were empty.. my dear boy even wanted to go up to folks living there and ask how much their apartment costs (i can imagine what they would say to him..lol) those executive apartments has very good layout but its costly.. 350K for a 2nd level apartment! *gasps* we can always dream...

then came home and got the news on the London bombing... many emotions, no words but this: "what can man do against such reckless hate?"

one year of bliss..

It Might Be You

Time...
I've been passing time watching trains go by
All of my life...
Lying on the sand, watching seabirds fly
Wishing there would be
Someone waiting home for me...
Something's telling me it might be you
It's telling me it might be you...
All of my life...

Looking back as lovers go walking past...
All of my life...
Wondering how they met and what makes it last
If I found the place
Would I recognize the face?

Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah, it's telling me it might be you

So many quiet walks to take
So many dreams to wake
And we've so much love to make
I think we're gonna need some time
Maybe all we need is time...
And it's telling me it might be you
All of my life...

I've been saving love songs and lullabies
And there's so much more
No one's ever heard before...

Something's telling me it might be you
Yeah, it's telling me it must be you
And I'm feeling it'll just be you
All of my life...

It's you...
It's you...
I've been waiting for all of my life...

Maybe it's you...
Maybe it's you...
I've been waiting for all of my life...

Maybe it's you...
Maybe it's you...
I've been waiting for all of my life...

i love you zack..

Our Quirky World

got this off Today Online - 6 July
have a read... have a laugh

Sweden passes Peeping Tom law, gets free show. The Swedish Parliament has added to the country's reputation for being sexually liberated by passing a law that makes looking up ladies' skirts legal.

The motion was carried 332 to 17, reported ABC Online.

To celebrate the new law, the Parliament's second floor was replaced with a glass floor. Women were invited to stand on it, wearing their loosest, widest skirts, with or without underwear. Men were invited to bring their cameras, stand on the floor below and look up.

Germany

Thief leaves photos of self at crime scene

A German thief effectively signed his own arrest warrant after photographing himself at the scene of a crime and accidentally leaving the pictures for police to discover. Police in the northern town of Neumuenster said the youth stole a digital camera during a break-in in nearby Rendsburg and took the photos before discarding the device, reported ABC Online.

"We don't know if it was down to a series of unfortunate events, or whether the thief couldn't get to grips with the technology. The evidence was fairly compelling, so he had to admit it," a police spokesman said.

Russia

Man nabbed because his breasts were too big

A Russian man who tried to sit for university entrance exams in place of his sister was caught because his breasts were too big, reported ananova.com

Security staff got suspicious because the "girl" had bright make-up, "outstanding feminine features" and breasts of "incomparable proportions".

Suspecting that notes could be hidden inside her clothing, they conducted a search and found that the breasts were fake. A thorough check revealed that the "girl" was in fact a young man trying to pose as his sister, in order to pass the exam for her.
