Since Megan learnt how to pull herself up to her cot rail, she's been doing it and refusing to sleep!!! Even when she's tired.. tsk tsk. Her favorite is bouncing on her knees and popping her head to see what everyone is doing :)

She refused to nap after her morning feed and was bouncing away and blowing raspberries - so cute lor! I had to carry her and lap her while I use the com.. She is probably bored and is now fast asleep.. hehe. Just put her back in her cot.... :)

Megan pulled herself into a standing position!!!

Twas after her afternoon nap and she woke up all cheery and energetic. Bouncing on her fours in her cot. Little hands placed themselves on the cot rail and she stood up on her knees. Zack and I started to cheer her on as she did it over and over again. To our amazement, she suddenly extended 1 leg.. then the other and was standing! Our hearts stopped and we looked at each other, momentarily speechless. When we found our voice.. "Did you see that?! Did you see that?!! She stood up!!!" *beams* 2 proud parents grinning like idiots.. haha!

We praised her to the high heavens (gold olympic medal!) and encouraged her to do it again. But guess she got distracted over our excitement.. hahaha!

We'll try again today alright sweetheart? Show Godpa Ben & Aunty Val when they come over later *muaks* :)

Yesterday was a day I had to balance all at once!

Basically everything a wife and mother has to do...
: Grocery shopping
: Clean/pack the house
: Laundry
: Made Zack's dream come true
: Prepare Megan's food
: Cook dinner with the gang - Chris, Elynne and Marky came to play! :)

But my darling hubby helped to bathe Megan as I was busy making dinner :) Teamwork baby.. teamwork!

Twas a busy crazy day!

But everything turned out great! The guys enjoyed my burgers *beams* So now I can safely say i've mastered HAMBURGER! With all modesty, I must say my patty is pretty terrific.. hehe. I put a whole lot of good stuff in it ;P Mushrooms were good too, sauteed it with oil (olive oil i might add) used to cook the patty so it's all fragrant, with minced onions. Added a dose of special stuff, sure makes a diff! Oh gosh.. I seem to be adding more stuff as I go along.. haha. But Zack says my patties are getting better *beams* Nice feeling when your friends appreciate the food you cook for them :)

We played Blackjack again.... AND I GOT A 'BAN BAN'!

Been whipping out some pretty good stuff!
Cooked the remaining hokkien noodles with chicken I marinated overnight
and gosh.. third time's the charm!
I always have a problem with gauging saltiness..
it's either too salty or not enough.
(I like my food salty so I have to tone it down in my cooking)
And last night's chicken noodles was perfecto~ :)

But not to our pocket...
.....cos cooking for 2 is costly! :(
And Zack is not satisfied with a simple dish..
he'd want to add another 24 stuff in it! *shake head*

MEGAN'S PLAY....

She is a really good crawler!
She is crawling after Pappe now..hahaha!
i'm trying to do a vid of it..
And is already doing the advanced crawl called the 'cross-crawling' - moving one arm and the opposite leg together when she moves forward, rather than using an arm and a leg from the same side. Many babies start with the commando crawl, mostly using the arms. Average age for babies to do the cross-crawling is at 9-10 months. Megan mastered it at 6.5 months! :)

So now that Megan has mastered crawling...
She has learnt to pull herself up!
For the past week, she had started to do just that.
Sometimes I find her on her knees and hugging the giraffe (see background) on her exercise mat.. hahaha! So cute!
So Daddy bought her this breakfast tray which is the right height for her.. to pull herself up :)

Now see why I'm always so busy all day...
My eyes gotta be on Megan CONSTANTLY!
She is really moving fast..
Left her with Zack on the bed while i did the dishes.
He didn't know what a speedy gonzalas his daughter is and left her on the bed while he went to brush his teeth. Less than 7secs... she crawled off the bed! Thank goodness our bed is a platform bed so she didnt hurt herself.

This afternoon, the 3 of us were lazing in bed. Zack and I were playing with Megan and she was grinning at us. It was such simple pure joy. Was thinking how precious it is that we are able to do this.. and everyday, i thank God for this :)

Megan did the MOST heart-tearing thing this morning!

She woke at 8.30am..
Diaper-changed and fed her..
Usually she'd go back to sleep in her cot
Since Zack went fishing early in the morning
I decided to bring her to our room
Tucked her in next to me and she fell asleep minutes after..
I did some reading and fell asleep too..
About 11am she woke up, rolled to her tummy and looked ard
I was half awake.. nearly rousing...
when Megan bent her head down and rubbed her face on my cheek!
Almost like she was kissing me.
she did it many times!
So 'theh'!
I must have been kissing her too often and she was mimicking me.. hahahha!
Oh gosh... I cant begin to describe how endearing that was :)

Coming to 1am... and i'm still wide awake!

Zack is out having shisha with Himmah and some friends. He went for a wake prior to that. A colleague of his commited suicide yesterday evening.. by parachuting without one.. *sigh* It's so tragic.. he is just 35 years old. A whole life ahead of him..... This is the 2nd colleague who committed suicide by falling from height! Coincidentally both deceased used to be housemates. Almost feels like a movie...

I wonder.. what pushed them to the point where they'd think life is no longer worth living? There is nothing, i reiterate: NOTHING.. that can't be solved. No problem too big, no heartbreak too painful.. that life can't go on. So my dear friends, if any of you need someone to talk to, my line is always open. Or you can catch me on msn. If you don't wanna talk to anyone, please please know that God is ALWAYS here for us. I can't promise anything.. but i can promise you my dear friend that you WILL feel better after talking to God! Gosh I so miss poly days!

Zack and I were reminiscing our poly days during dinner. Not the studies part but the BGR part... hahaha! He has really entertaining stories of gals chasing him. Some gals are just so daring! But it was super funny.. hehe. They can be so persistent.. 6mths of smses! One gal asked him out for a date for mths before he finally relented. She suggested the venue (Kallang macs) and a walk along Kallang River.. at night!.. where she expressed her feelings for him! He didnt like her so let her down gently. Gosh.. poor gal.. but oh so brave!

I know of this gal who was hot on his heels. It was during the initial part of our 'getting to know each other'. We were msn buddies and there was this gal called Carol. She asked him out a few times.. That night, we were on msn.. and she asked him out for a drink at Bliss (near his hse) at 12midnight! I remember him telling me how freaky this gal was.. haha. I was encouraging him to go out with her, give ppl a chance mah. hehe. But he didnt want to meet her.. yet after awhile, he wanted to send mutton chop to my house (in punggol!) He was even looking at the route from his place to mine. Note: Past midnight! Imagine if i had agreed, that will be our 1st meet up after poly ;P

I had a very short bout of fun :( Hooked up with a guy 3 mths into poly and there went 5 years! The first 3 mths were awesome fun for me! My hey days.. oh my hey days! I had about 9 guys after me at the same time! I know the number cos Rayner (the busybody) will come sit next to me during lecture and count away the guys who were hot on my heels. So 'sanba' right? heheh. Jeez.. it was fun. Let's count again:

Of all, Yiming is the only one I have a fondness for cos he was so clumsily cute in his courtship. He was totally clueless on how to go about chasing a gal.. Pretty much did everything wrong.. hahaha. After awhile he told me he was going to pull back cos there were many guys fighting for my attention (he could hear my pagar beeping as we chat at night). Rayner (his classmate) told me something incredibly touching. Yiming wrote in his diary every time i passed him by and smiled at him. Isnt that sweet?? :) I never knew a smile from me could make someone's day :)

Zack asked me if I knew him better in poly, would I have gone after him *roll eyes* His head is very big cos he had gals chasing him. I told him he was too skinny for me! :P (I like his frame better now! Oh those shoulders *swoons*) But maybe.. just maybe.. BUT ju dont chase guys.. I let them do the chasing! hahaha! Truth be told.. I don't 'fall in love' easily. Apart from my bfs, there were only 2 guys that i was ever really infatuated with. The longest one: Ben (since 11 yrs old!) and Jeremy (who lived in the same estate as Ben!).. who broke my heart when he left TP, so nothing happened between us. Handsome.. but naughty bad boy who smokes and don't go home. I used my head, not my heart.

So if Zack and I had known each other better in poly, would we have hook up earlier? Maybe *winks* I remember him as the skinny smiley guy whom I always see at MAC (Music and Arts Centre) and he remembers me as Simon's hot gf. Funny how we went a big round and our lives crossed after so many years. And who would have thought these 2 strangers would fall in love and build something beautiful - our lovely home and beautiful Megan :)

As we were chatting over dinner just now.. it suddenly felt like 5.5 years ago and we were still freshly madly in love. Only now.. it's way better, deeper.. and so much more :)

'm about to make one of the toughest decision ever...

So today...

I went for round 2 with Marina Bay Sands.
Yes! it's Marina Bay Sands!
When i applied for it mths back, never really tot i'd get it.
There'll be hundreds of applicants!
Thought i totally screwed round 1.. i'm pretty sure i did!

When Zack heard i was called for the 2nd interview.. he was like, "Good looks really have an advantage."

I was of course indignant.
Hey! I got to where I am with my capabilities ok! Not based on my looks! Bleh!
He then went on to say he meant that i got looks AND am capable *roll eyes* Sometimes this Isaac really ask for it.. tsk tsk. But cannot scold him cos he's been such a wonderful hubby throughout! Supporting me financially and emotionally :)

Anyway.. I went for round 2 and to my very surprise and utter shock...
I bagged the job!
Just reference checks and i'm good to go.
Honestly, i wasn't banking on it and was really half-hearted about it.
I don't even know if i'll accept if they offer.
Yeah i know.. its MARINA BAY SANDS!
I must be TOTALLY nuts!

She slept!

Woke up halfway through and just enjoyed the ride quietly. Nearing her feed, she started to 'grumble'.. it sounds more like her singing a song.. hahah. That was my cue to find a place to sit. Fed her and just sat her down on my lap to enjoy the sights.. people watch. It was nice :)

On our way home...
She pooped!

Good that we were nearing Punggol so when we alighted, i changed her diaper at the train station. Convenient that Punggol is a terminal and no one was about :P Clean diaper, full tummy... in the lift up to the LRT station - Megan fell asleep :) Just a short nap and woke up while we were in PP. Shortly after, we reached home and it was time to fashion parade! - you'll see later ;P

We came home at 3am! :S
Picked Megan up from Grands and she woke up when i carried her. Such a tender feeling when she opened her blurry eyes, stared at me and smiled :) Even during the ride home.. she'd look at me, the minute i turned to her, she'd kick her legs and break into grin. It doesnt bode well by the way. Any smile past midnight is not good news - she only went to bed at 5.45am!

Had a mozzie attack.
4 of us.. and seems like i'm the only one :(
38 bites... 24 on my left foot, 14 on my right
both feet are still swollen now..
i've always been prone to mozzie bites.. *sigh*

Been busy the past couple of days.
Out the afternoons while Zack looked after our little angel.

Things happened this week that got me pretty upset.
Strangely they all revolved around the same issue.
Not 1, 2 but 3... in a span of 4 days.
Got me thinking and evaluating alot.
To understand why am i this upset.

Is it geography? Or your mindset? Or just people who are just plain fucked up?
I have this intense urge to strike back.
Never been able to take things lying especially when people i love is concern.
But i've been coaxed, persuaded...
Only when i related to a friend my lifestory 7 years back..
did i realised.....

I have come a long way. Experienced one of the world's greatest pain. Emotionally scarred. Fought with all my might those years.. for my mum, for my survival. Hated with a passion. I was spent... emotionally. But i survived. Now i'm proud to say i no longer hate him. Cos hating him gives him power over me. And that he no longer wields. Indifference is really the opposite of Love. Now, i really cannot care less. And i'm sorry for him.. really sorry for him. But love for him, is no longer mine to give. Even Zack sees that. Whatever i do, i do it out of duty. Cos thats how my mum brought me up to be. Not out of love. It's sad isn't it?

After dredging up my past.. i realised...

What this bitch said, was really peanuts to what i went through. And like my friends said, why bother with a retard? Bcos that is exactly what she is. An airhead without brains.

On a completely different issue...
Does Zack look like an ATM to anyone?
Why does ppl keep borrowing money from him??
It's getting quite irritating.
They know his pay day and the hp will ring a day before.
My ex-bf, Simon used to be one of those..
He borrows money to go clubbing!!! and i really despise him for it.
If you don't have the money, jolly well dont club.

For me, borrowing money from friends is something really degrading. I'd be totally humiliated to do so. It's different if you are shopping with your gf and short of $10.. so you borrow and return her the next day. I don't even borrow from my sis. And hardly asked my mum for money. She used to slip notes in my wallet cos she knows i'd rather eat bread then to ask her for money.

But yeah, Zack has friends like this. What's more, they drag payment.. tsk tsk. One even used his 'sick' mother as a excuse.. lies and lies.. We were royally pissed. Don't ppl have any pride?

Off the top of my head, he has 3 people owing him money at current. 1 of them has a debt that had dragged on for more than 1 year already. Zack is someone generous and sometimes i think ppl ard him take advantage of it. In a way, I'm happy that he is what he is. At least he is not one of those who borrows! As his wife, it's my job to make sure that he is not taken advantage of. He don't even realise it sometimes, he is simply too nice for his own good. But sometimes it's so tiring and frustrating having to look out for people around me.

Jeez, this is quite a depressing post.

so apologies for it.
i'm frustrated.. by a couple of things.

today is just me and megan.. so it's a good day for me to be alone and regroup my feelings.

Sometimes i think i'm too much of a fighter cock.
and it's not a good thing.
I have a very strong sense of justice
and this intense need to make things right.
I cant walk away when something is not right.
when someone is being bullied..
when someone is being wrongly accused.

My mum was one of those.
She had been bullied and accused of theft by her evil MIL for years
her useless husband didnt stand up for her.
For years i was too young to do anything but watch and see how someone i love get bullied while no one did anything.
I couldnt do anything.
Children were meant to be seen, not heard in my house.
I finally did.
But only after she died, which was my regret.
I scolded and screamed at that evil woman infront of my mum's grave..
she had the gall to touch my mum's tombstone.
I chased her away and she didnt dare come back.
Justice. In front of my mum.
No one stopped me, no one dared. Not even my useless father.
Cos I did what no one else dared. All they ever did was talked and said how sorry they were for my mum, what a bad woman that witch is.
I did something.. for my mother.

Is it worth it? ...you might ask.
Just caught abit of 'Lakeview Terrace' and like this line, totally apt:

My darling hubby is on leave!

So we are bumming at home, watching tv, playing with Megan, and of crse, i'm doning the apron more often ;)

TODAY...

Grocery shopping! Megan had fun in her Baby Bjorn carrier.. she was up up in the air cos Daddy carried her, the air up there is much fresher.. haha. We caught 2 FULL movies on cable! Always miss the beginning.. tsk tsk. Caught Heartbreak Kid and Awake. American Idol was entertaining. Friends is hilarious (as always!). In all... it was a wonderful day at home with Zack and Megan :)

Megan and Mummy is happy Daddy is home all week!

Funniest thing happened just now.

I was mopping the floor and left Megan on the exercise mat. Suddenly I heard people speaking in tamil. Huh? Channel was set at Travel & Living. Looked around and saw the culprit lying on the floor kicking her legs in glee.. that little gal had found the remote and switched the channels! hahahaha! Can't leave her alone for 5mins! :P

Took a raincheck on a dinner appointment with Ant last night and boy was i glad to.

He called me later to tell him he had in fact asked Poh Ling along (without telling me!) and ended up dining with her alone (and she drove him mad with wanting him to pay for dinner and sending her home).

Point is: I've written her off and am not the least bit interested in meeting up with her. He jolly well knows it. And to think he wanna spring this on me. What is this? Trying to get a reaction out of us? Wanna see how awkward we will be? I know him... it's not done with the good intention of mending the bridge. But for the thirst for drama and the fun of it.

It's NOT funny pal.

As for Poh Ling: For years i've put up with her bratty ways and demands. She gets angry when i didnt ask her out during school hols! You'd think i was her boyfriend instead of friend. That trip to JB years ago was really the turning point. Her rudeness about Zack was the final straw. "What kinda name is Isaac." (Isaac is a biblical name and she's a christian. Go figure.), "Eeww, he wears that ugly blue uniform?" I've mentioned it before and will again. Zack is mine.. and if you dont like him without due cause, so be it. Bitch all you want but dont ever say anything remotely mean about him infront of me, i'd NOT tolerate it. Her heck care attitude when i invited her to our wedding was the FINAL straw. I was upset. Called Ben that night and was bawling my eyes out at him. I had enough. That night, i cried.. for those years of friendship. One night, was all i gave her. The morning after, I wrote her off. Period.

This is a joke to you? You wanna put 2 negative forces and wait for combustion?
It's high time you grow up and learn to respect people's feelings and wishes.

7.30am: Megan wakes. Diaper change. Feed her.
8.00am: Put Megan back to sleep. Back to bed.
10.30am: Megan wakes. Diaper change. Let her play in bed. Use com.
11.00am: Feed her. Put her on gym mat for exercise/play. Laundry. Clean floor.
12.00pm: Megan's bathtime. Put her down for nap.
2.00pm: Feed Megan. Diaper change.
2.30pm: Bring Megan down to PP for grocery shopping. She will usually nap in her stroller.
3.15pm: Hang out laundry. Cook lunch. Cook Pappe's food. Eat lunch (while watching Growing Up). Feed Pap.
4.00pm: Wash dishes. Cook Megan's food (cereal).
4.30pm: Diaper change. Feed Megan her cereal. Play with her.
5.30pm: Put Megan down for nap.
6.30pm: Megan wakes.
7.00pm: Watch 'Friends' with Megan.
7.30pm: Megan's bathtime. Feed her. Down for the night.
8.30pm: Prepare dinner for Zack and I. Feed Pappe.
9.30pm: Zack reaches home. Have dinner together and chat about our day.
10.30pm: Wash dishes. Clean kitchen. Wash/Sterilise bottles. Boil water. Have a relaxing bath. Use the com. Spend time with Zack.
12.30am: Read/QT. Lights out.

So sorry if i didnt reply to your emails/smses/msn chats.. especially so in the afternoon. I'd usually be tied up with Megan. She is getting playful and naptime is getting shorter. I gotta ask Andy if babies need lesser attention as they get bigger cos his wife Leanna seems to have alota time for drama serials and vids. Between Megan and housechores, I hardly even have time to finish a novel! :( Especially now that Megan is on solids, extra time is needed to prepare her food and feed her. Perhaps i'm getting pretty anal with housechores too. If it's not cleaning the floor, it's washing the toilets. Or packing the rooms. A sinkful of dishes irks me. Tolerance for dust is getting low. Every piece of clothing gotta be folded. Oh yes, i'm starting to throw stuff away which is a mighty good thing.. hahahha. And still.. the house is never tidy enough!

It's an exhausting 24/7 job but I wouldn't trade it for any job in the world. Watching Megan grow from an immobile milk-gobbling baby to a healthy bouncy smiley imp.. just makes all the long hours, sleepless nights worthwhile :) I love how she stares at me with those beautiful eyes of hers.. a "hello sunshine!" brings on the brightest grin. It's so amazing how much she looks like Zack.. and that brings on another flood of love. She came from love :)

Sure aint easy but having an appreciative hubby makes a world of difference :)

He cooked dinner tonight and said he'd wash the dishes when he comes home tomorrow. Before he left for work tonight, he gave me a sweet long kiss and said, "I know you've been doing alot and i want to tell you that i appreciate it. Love you" *beams*

So yes.. i'm tired.. but i'm happy.. very happy :)
