Last saturday.... the gals came over for a night of fun!
well.. not exactly potluck as originally planned..
thought ordering pizza will be easier.
but yy made us jelly and jo bought us Jerry's wings! :)
and jo treated us to the nicest pao pao cha - i'm addicted now!

(thinking of ways to coax Zack into taking me to Toa Payoh to buy them.. so far i've not succeeded)



and we celebrated Silin's birthday!
Sy, the most thoughtful one, went to Patissier to get the cake and bought the present.

me swollen with our little bundle of love squirming inside and Zack rubbing and cooing to her, my nose prickled as i thank God again for all that He had blessed us... and me.

i love my babies... the big one and the small one.

when i count my blessings... i count them twice.

I just had the most awesome time with the gals!
they only went home like an hour ago - 1.30am! haha..
we've not laughed so much in the longest time..
yy is back for good so the group is whole again..
that also means more sore throats in time to come :P

for the first time in years....
i cut my nails short - 1mm to the nail bed!
so i wouldnt scratch my little darling when she's out.
there goes another vanity.. on top of no-heels for the next few mths!

a quick update on Megan.
we had our ob appointment yesterday (8 July)
and guess what?
She's engaged already!!!
in other words, she has dropped down into the pelvic cavity and its anytime soon!
but John Tee said we can look at 38-39 weeks.
next week's appt will be checking if i'm dilated and effaced.
and thank God, she doesnt have her cord around her neck.
we could see during the 2D scan.. praying it stays this way.

jeez.. i've been having alota braxton hicks (contractions) after washing a toilet. Oh no.. I still have plenty to do before i'm ready for her to be out!

Megan, please be a good gal and stay in there longer.. come out next week earliest okay? Don't listen to Daddy. Muaks.. Mummy loves you!

Gosh we are just so excited!
i cant believe we've reached full term and are just days or weeks away.

Even during our anniversary on the 7th, we ended up shopping for Megan! hahaha. I told Zack we should have a day where we don't talk about Megan, it'll just be Zack&Ju's day. And he said i wouldnt be able to do that.. hahaha! I say he wouldnt be able to do it :P

I GOT A PRESENT!!!!!
i said not tonight cos i wanna think it over longer but he quickly clicked 'Send My Order' and said he's buying it for me.. *tears*huge hug*many muaks*

So i'm 36 weeks now!

......that is in the 9th month.. 1 week to full-term! So hang in there sweetheart! Megan should be about 2.7kg now and Zack said its a good weight to deliver. He said a smaller Megan is easier for me to deliver, so below 3kg is good.

Couple of nights back he made me watch some deliveries on youtube :S and i was frankly quite tramautized! (and i'm not liking him very much!) I saw a 2.5kg baby being born and he was in fact pretty chubby already. They look rather scary when they are just born, all greyish looking :S

Feeling the anxiety now. How am i gonna be a mother? Much lest a good one.. *sigh* I don't even know how to hold a baby! We visited Andy's on Sunday and played with little Keagen abit. He is so cute! So chubby! I tried carrying him as best as i could with that big bump infront and i sure aint as adapt as Zack and Chris. Like that how??? I'm going to have a baby in a few weeks time and i dont even know how to carry one.. *sigh* Keagen was so cute.. his face was near my breast and he put his hand on it, opened his mouth and wanted to sucker! Awwww..... Sorry sweetie, no milk yet. Maybe the milk glands are hard at work and he can scent it.. hahaha! Felt my heartstring tug a little when he did that. I can now see how breastfeeding is a bonding time between the mother and baby :)

Meanwhile i can practise baby-carrying on Pappe. She is 3kg and the perfect size.. hahhaha! Love her to bits!!!

Zack is off today so we'll be getting the rest of Megan's stuff!
i shall continue my house-choring over Fri and Sat when he is at work.

and i need to pack my hospital bag soon!

speaking of bags... i need a diaper bag!!!
made Zack promise he wouldnt get me a gucci diaper bag or equivalent.

we've spent a bomb on Megan's stuff and i cant bring myself to carry a thousand over dollar bag.. it's toooo extravagant and crazy! I'm a prudent and sensible wifey k... and honestly, i'm really not a bag person. A nice and efficient bag is good enough for me - and that i shall get myself! I'd better find one soon cos i noticed he didnt really give me a reply when i made him promise me... hmmm.....

okie.. gotta head off to do some baby shopping!

Megan's babycot and stroller have arrived!

and dont ask me why my dear hubby asked them not to assembly on their end... then he told ME to try fixing it! It's a stroller with all those incomprehensible parts.. not some ikea cabinet.. Asked the assembly guy if he could help and he said he dunno how to, Quinny has too many models. Nevertheless, i enjoy fixing stuff so i tried my hand at it, told myself i'd be a genius if i managed to work it out. And i did it!!!! JU IS A GENUIS!!! :P

Zack said he'll QC when he come home later.. haha!

Today is a tiring day for me.

Been a busy weekend!

Met up with the darling gals on Fri and as usual - it was always fun and relaxing :) albeit too short! i'm not satisfied! I'm hoping for 1-2 more meets before Megan comes out. YY is on her way home from the States and that gal is gonna self-quarantine herself for a week before meeting me. Considerate yet unnecessary.. i'm still no doubt touched :)

My long hair was getting to me. Thick, messy and dry at the ends so i paid Johnny a visit yesterday. What was supposed to be a quick trip to my stylist turned out to be a whole day affair! hahahhaha! Well.. since i was at Outram, decided to pop over to Vivo (which is next stop) to find Megan's coming home outfit. And i didnt leave til 8pm! I couldnt find a nice home-coming outfit but bought some really fab clothes for her. Pics up soon!

Woke up to an sms from Zack relating bad news - Michael Jackson passed away!
It's quite unbelieveable.. even til now.
It was just like the death of Princess Diana.
I'm not a huge fan but death makes me sad.
I've been close to it more times than i wanna remember.
It sure aint pretty to say the least.
May he rest in peace..

It's almost the end of the 1st week of my maternity leave.
and it feels like i've not rested at all.. haha.
there's something going on almost everyday.
i really do need to stay home for a period of time to ready things up.
(no outings! nah-uh!)
i NEED to get the house ready for Megan and i dont have much time left.
her babycot and stroller will be coming next tue (wooohooooo!)
and i want her nursery to be ready by then. 4 days left!

Time is nearing....

I asked Zack if they can just knock me out, i wake up and have a baby in my arms? Just minus the in between part.. haha. Well, i'm going al naturale.. no epidural.. *gulps*deep breath* Zack's so horrible.. said if i cant take it, just give him a sign by crossing my eyes and he'd get me epidural.. ahahhaha! He look me no up! *humph* I wonder who is the one who has a long list of the cons of epidural lor...

But i must admit i'm impressed by how knowledgeable Zack is about all this pregnancy and labour stuff! I'd religiously read the weekly pregnancy boards and forum and will feedback to him.. and he knows them all and can even explain more explicitly to me. Like today's lesson, i knew everything cos Zack had told me about the various pain reliefs. He really knows the drugs at his finger tips! *impressed* But it's certainly not fun when he starts telling me what to expect in labour.. like telling me not to be shocked if Megan comes out all wrinkly (not the rosy cherub i'm imagining) or those labour photos i've seen on the net is not considered bloody enough *faints* or why some babies come out with greenish stuff on them - it's meconium, baby's poo poo and what it means. John Tee likes to tease him and tell the nurses he can deliver our baby.. hahaha. In any case, i'd definitely want Zack to do my IV for me! Those medical students/trainee docs are hopeless!

Jeez.. Megan's been very active today.
She is boxing me even as i'm typing this..
She can really pack a punch at times!
and her favourite passtime is dancing on mummy's bladder.. haha

Pappe's been really sticky to me recently.. more than usual.
i hope it doesnt mean anything!

the one with dinner at St Regis

So last sat Zack and I attended a wedding dinner at St Regis. The place was stupendous.. full-out opulence. Food was chinese fine-dining - Zack was still hungry after dinner.. haha! Service was top notch! I have to make a special commendation to them cos they brought me a cushion to prop my back so I could sit more comfortably! and i didnt ask for it. How thoughtful is that? :) (i'm so enjoying being a preggo! hehe)

after the dinner waiting for our car to arrive - valet parking. It was 12bucks!!! goodness gracious.. Zack having some fun with his new toy.

Everything looks nice but the wedding was one of those where people sit down to eat then go home. As Zack said, the groom should have done something for the bride (yeah like him right.. haha). BUt yeah, some entertainment would be nice. A special touch for that special night. And we reminisce about ours.. weddings always put us in a sappy mood :)

It was so funny cos Zack and i both tot the bride was the groom's previous gf. She attended our wedding 3yrs back and i remember her being bigger-sized. This one is thin like bamboo and we both thought, "wow, she lost so much weight!" Turned out, it's another gal! Imagine if we told her that she lost alot of weight.. hahahah...

However i noticed something amiss. All that money, the sheer opulence of the place but one thing was missing and that is class (and i dont mean the place). As i always say.. money dont buy class. A woman can be wearing a 1 carat diamond and look totally tasteless. Her demeanour, her speech, the way she treats people and yes, even her walk. This bride.. no good vibes. And trust me, my instincts about people is almost spot-on everytime.

On our way home, we were talking about how similar this marriage is to another that we know of. Right down to the BMW and short courtship time! It's uncanny! Okay i shant be bitchy here. All i shall say is good luck to the groom (he's a very nice hardworking chap)! Men must be smart to see the wiles of women.. but sadly many are not. It's expensive to marry the wrong kind of woman in Singapore so guys out there please take heed.

LAST NIGHT.... Zacky picked me up from work and brought me to Hougang Mall for PepperLunch for dinner! We then went off to meet Fu at Tong Shui for dessert. Marky had a date so he didnt join us. 10mins into waiting for fu.. guess who walked into Tong Shui? Mark......... with a chick! OMG! It was hilarious and we are not about to be 2 big lightbulbs.. hahhaha! We know he didnt wanna sit with us either.. hehe. Fu came shortly and we changed table.. and i know the 2 guys were spying on them! She seems like a nice girl and they both really seem interested.. 2nd date! :P Marky was so nervous he was perspiring away (aircon was blowing lor) and Fu said he specially went home to change.. hahhaha. Hope things work out! :D

Sat dinner with Tong Tong

it was a blast tonight!

met up with Sylvia for dinner.. dear gal came to pick this preggo up :) Since i needed to do a little shopping, i suggested J8. We hit shop after shop.. and boy was it fun! more so when yr gf run to the changing room as fast as you waddle.. hahaha!

our spoils were great!
and she ended up buying more stuff than i!

i'm incredibly delighted with mine: $10 tees from cotton on, tube top from Fox and a nice piece from Hypnosis! Best thing is i can still wear them after delivery! Speaking of delivery, Sylvia said i dont look 8 months pregnant! Yeah I certainly dun look like i'll be delivering next month! hahaha! omg.... wait. It's NEXT MONTH!!!!

did plenty of catching up and bitching.. i think i've not yakked so much in a long long time. And as usual, time with Sylvia is always filled with laughter. Dammit.. i didnt know she was in TP Dance Club and we went to the same dance camp!!!

Bought a few other items from Ikea as well. Left Zack in the children's dept while i go visit the loo. Came back to find him with his arms full and grinning from ear to ear.. hahhahah! Honestly, i didnt think we need to get those but i let him indulge and not spoil his fun :) He is gonna be a terrific dad, not to mention how he's gonna spoil Megan rotten :P

And as usual our shopping habits differ from each other - we learnt that during our house reno.. haha. I for one like to go to a few places, mull my choices over and buy the best. Zack on the other hand is the decisive (or impulsive) one. Go to a shop, find one that's nice, buy and leave. Item checked. But he's been very indulgent for Megan's nursery *muaks* :).. we went to ikea twice before making our decision. Babycot hunting was at least 2 rounds.. hehe. He's also been so proactive in shopping for the other necessities.. right down to breastpump! Drove me crazy telling me which breastpump i should buy and shouldnt buy.

J: *deep breath* daaaarling.. these are MY breasts and i decide which one to buy!
Z: *cheekily* but i can help you pump! *wags brows*

but isnt it so sweet when he called me from KKH (on one of his calls) and asked me how much was the breastpump i wanna get and if KKH is selling it cheaper? Now which hubby checks out breastpump prices for his wife? :)

Megan's dresser shopping!

We're going Ikea today to get Megan's dresser!!!
I got my eye on this lovely ebony piece with yellow/white stripes on the inside!
Question is how to cart it home and fix it up..
Zack cant do it alone, its too heavy.
Not too pysch to pay for delivery and assembly.

Last night we were in the com room trying to figure out how to shuffle the furniture around. We got until 30 June to get it done cos that's when Megan's cot and stroller will arrive! :)

good news: yesterday was the first time in almost 3 weeks i didnt walk with a limp!! Today i will be doing some walking, let's pray the pain dont come back!

I cant believe i'm so forgetful these days!

Zack msged me telling me he will be home at 5pm today.

I was of crse elated and wondered why.. then i remember we got a prenatal class to attend at 6.30pm! And... and... i had arranged a dinner appointment with Ben and Val!!! Arggghhhh.. have to postpone now. Ben was so sweet.. offered to come by and pay me a visit :)

that's not all...

I left my credit card at the store on Monday! I have NEVER done this before! :S

1 June 2009: My hubby is in the news!!!

The article itself is self-explanatary. Zack (he is the tall handsome one right smack in the centre :P) is one of the 10 paramedics attached to the private ambulance for this month. Doesn't need to run ambulance, just to supervise and make sure things are done with proper protocol.

He is stationed at Bishan and is working 8am - 8pm - wooohoooo! Shift so it's work 2 days, off 2 days. So i got my hubby during the nights! :)

He'll be posted to Paya Lebar next month. His new OC said his previous OC at Changi raves about him and they got big plans for him there *beams*

My hubby is going places! And i'm sure his career will be moving on to greater heights thus forth.. PTL!

New doors are opening.. for him in his line of work. There are now a few areas he can branch out to. Last year, he asked me if i wanna move to Canada! In fact, there were plans to go over in March this year so he could recee the ambulance system there. His instructor had kindly offered to house him and take him along for their calls (and of crse i will tag along, not the calls part though.. the holiday part.. hehe) But plans changed in a form of a little Megan's arrival :) so things got pushed back. But it's not easy to uproot, definitely not so. The much higher salary and welfare certainly are tempting but there are more things to consider. Then again, it might not happen but it's always good to have Plan B or C - the real possiblity of it and not just building castles in the air. Oh.. and Zack can go deep sea fishing! hahahhaha..

gosh it's been more than a week since i last blogged *gasps* It's been incredibly busy at work, so busy that i worked through 2 days of mc! Imagine receiving that golden ticket yet i had to shove it out of sight and continue pounding on the computer.. it's heartbreaking i tell you. This is a painful life *sobs* I didnt even dare tell Zack cos he will scold me for not resting at home (i eventually did and no scolding!).. i already got scolding from Sylvia when she saw me online the next day.. haha. Sometimes i wonder if i'm being stupidly responsible. And that if it's worth it afterall. As i told Zack.. i'm doing it for myself, not for the coy. Not aftering that pat on the back but personal gratification. Oh well..... *shrug*

Now i got 1 week to enjoy my little Megan. I shamefully admit that i had neglected her recently. It's a good thing she is very active, i didnt have to worry about counting fetal movement cos i feel her all the time.. and if i miss her movements, all i need to do is call her and rub my tummy and i can feel her squirming after awhile... oh my little darling :)

Ju just had a lovely lovely night!
Zack and i went to Marina South Pier for dinner..
back to the restaurant we dined on our anniversary last year - Santa Fe
Food was awesome and the chocolate milkshake was just too delectable!

Then we went off to Marina Square to catch 'Night at the Musuem 2'.
Had some time so we did abit of shopping..
and we bought 3 tops! Zack 1 and me 2.. hehe
i'm happy with my spoils cos i can wear them after Megan is out.
i can still fit into size Petite.. not bad ya ;)
so far i'm surviving well on 2 maternity work pants and 1 maternity capri.
i hope what i have can last me for another 9 weeks.
improvisation is the way! but i'm really getting big - fast!
i'm wearing Zack's tees when i lounge at home now..
i've outgrown most of my tees.. serves me right for only wearing fitted tees.

ALrighty, Zack's out from shower so it's time i log off and go to bed :(
it's already 2am and i need my sleep.
but i really dun wanna sleep so tomorrow wouldnt come so fast.
gosh, this sounds really pathetic.
but it sure helps having my hubby home tonight.
sunday night is always tough.

why does weekends always go by so fast?
it was just a mere 3 days and i saw plenty.
the viciousness of people.
i look back and saw many sticks sticking out.

but for the sake of Megan, i must not let things affect me too much.

however, i thank God for the comfort of friends who had helped me through this rough time.

Sylvia who stick with me the whole day, literally going through with me, offering me encouragements. My dear sis who lunches with me just to cheer me up and listen to my woes. Sy who msgs me to check that i'm okay when she didnt receive an email from me. My darling hubby who picks me up from work (all the way from Punggol and back) cos he knows that will brighten my day.

i love you guys.. you dunno how much a difference you had made.
i probably couldnt have gotten through this without your support.

i just need to survive 5 weeks before i go on my maternity leave.
please sustain me God.
i can't let anything happen to Megan.
i want her to be a happy baby.

Today Zack and i went to IKEA!
there's just something about ikea that just juices you up..
you just dun ever get sick of that place.
we went there in search for a dresser for Megan.
we've got a serious number of clothes for her.. gifts from our beloved friends :) namely: YY, Chris and my darling sis bought a bagful from BKK! Godpa Mark bought her a maori necklace from New Zealand. Xiu Xiu too bought plenty from the States. Rachel said Megan is gonna be a Gap baby.. haha.
I'm touched.. so touched.. by the love and generousity of the people around us. I cant thank them enough :)

Yesterday we bought some clothes for our little girl.
they are soooo cute!
and we were both cooing over them like 2 idiots.. hhahahha
cant wait to see her!!!

Now i'm cracking my head on how to convert our com room to Megan's nursery.
making matters worse, i cant do a single thing!
i cant move furniture around.
i cant bend or squat.
i get tired from sitting/lying/standing too long.
i cant clean the floor or wash the toilet.
i cant even hang the laundry out! :(
it's really getting frustrating.. *sigh*

We're not doing the 3D/4D scan :(
Our ob discouraged us from doing it. Said the ultrasound waves used during such scans are much higher than the usual 2D scans and is not good for the fetus, it can affect sight and hearing. Zack is in total agreement. He wasnt impressed by the 3D/4D scans either. If it's not good in any way for her, i dont wanna take the risk as well.

Gosh.. gonna go take a cold shower then cozy up in bed with JD Robb.
the dogs must be feeling hot too.
Pappe jumps up everytime i get up from the chair and run to the master room.. then run back and plop infront of the fan when i didnt go next door.

i had a dream last night....

...and it was a pretty nice one.

with the rain pitter pattering outside, i was snugly cocooned under my thick fluffy quilt.. with my sweetheart warm and cosy next to me. Without opening my eyes, i wiggled closer and whispered: "I dreamt of durian milkshake and durian puffs... i think i finally got a craving" and after awhile.. i continued: "I wanna eat chicken rice too." To both of which he sleepily replied: "okay..."

I know nothing wakes my man like the thought of food especially when it's near meal time.. haha. True enough, he wakes up after a while and said he'll take me to Kovan for the chicken rice "with a queue"! :D

I'm sated. Chicken rice was great!

And he also bought me DURIANS!!! 3 boxes of it.. hehe. Usually he dun like me eating them cos it's heaty. I tried convincing him that durians are good for Megan (she is a very handy excuse!). They are said to be 'tonic' to the baby and babies will be big and healthy. (Though no one can tell me in exactly what way durians are good for babies so i'm not 100% convinced too). I have a bad suspicion that the babies are big cos the mummy ate too many durians and got gestational diabetes, resulting in big babies. Now that is no good! So i must be careful on my intake as well.

In any case, ju is happy! She got her durians!
We came home and whacked 2 boxes :P
then took a late afternoon nap...
and woke up at 9pm!!!
Zack called his station only to find out he is working tonight
so i quickly ironed his uniform while he got ready..
and was off in 30mins.
i'm so not prepared for him not to be home tonight :(


jeez... i'm hungry.
let me go feed my little one a pear.

In a span of a mere few days...

things happened... and then things happened.
Goes to show how we should be ready for any curveballs life throws us.

Looking back at the past week events..

Perhaps i can safely say we came out of them pretty much unscathed, just a tad bumped.

Perhaps i can safely say we came out of them more assured of our capacity of love.. that we can put aside our own fears and worries to offer comfort and support to each other.

Isnt this what marriage is?
What a partnership is?
To put his/her needs before your own?
To go through the tough times, hand in hand, with patience and encouragements?
To stand by each other, with unwavering loyalty and comfort?

And as i sit here listening to one of our wedding songs 'I Finally Found Someone'..
i cant help smiling and getting sappy..
Oh yes.. i finally found someone.. my One :)

It's said its during your time of need where you see the strength of a person.

How those broad shoulders i always love is indeed broad and strong enough to shield and support should calamity strikes. So once again, i wanna say how much i appreciate your quiet strength. I know how worried you were yet you showed a brave face to everything. Your calm and efficient manner soothed me nothing else could. How you wanna call my office and tell those horrid people off. You have no idea how that little gesture made me love you more, if that's even possible. I don't need someone to fight my battles.. but knowing that you want to, makes me feel so loved and protected. i love you baby...

In that separate event, i want you to know that i have the utmost respect for you. I'm pissed at the turn of events but i'm proud of the way you came through. You dont take things lying down and yet know when to cool off. This is how a man should be. And i'm so proud to be the woman behind you *hugs*

There's a lesson learnt at everything and this week, God has taught us many.

The 3rd TRIMESTER BEGINS!!!!

Gestation Period: 27 weeks
Weight: 1+kg

Our little Megan is 1 week to her 3rd trimester! She's growing well, weighing in at 1+kg.. which is double of that 4 weeks ago. She is now in the birthing position.. head at the cervix, legs up high above my belly button, facing left. Ahhhh.... so the little pokes on the left side of my belly are her fists or little fingers.. and the ones on top are her little feet! :)

John Tee (our ob) gave us another head profile. I will ask for a pic of her fingers and toes too in our next visit. Yesterday we went to Clinic A at KKH for our appt. Found it a tad chaotic. We fixed our next appt at The Private Suite! It's said to be bigger and cosier so i'm asking Godma, Rachel & Andrew along. So they can see their little grand daughter and niece on the screen :)

Next visit will be in 4 weeks time! Megan will be 31 weeks then :)

What's in a name?
After a not very long search, we decided on her name. It wasn't too tedious a process for us cos there weren't many we like in the first place.. haha. Naturally we have a few criteria.. it has to sound nice, look nice, matches her surname, good meaning.

Megan: A greek name, Strong and Mighty
Ann: A hebrew name, Grace, favoured by God (We picked Ann in honour of my mum. Her name was Angeline but fondly known as Ann by everyone)

We love their meanings! and there are no other names as fitting for our little princess :) So her initials will be M.A.C.

Zack said if she is a big baby, we will call her Big Mac.. if she is small, she will be Little Mac.. hahahaha.

i'm gonna miss them :(
funnily my wanderlust is not stroked this time.
for once in my life, i'm not keen on travel or holidays.
i just wanna stay home and prepare for my daughter's grand entrance.
i've got so much to do i'm starting to panic!

my crazy dreams are back and i need more quality sleep.

last night Zack tried his hand at frying pomfret and when he served it, the skin was gone! hahaha! Hey, frying a perfect fish not easy okay. Good first attempt nevertheless!

Sent an email to my big boss cos he's on leave about work. His reply:

"Thanks Juliana. Hope all well with you. Haven't seen you for ages!"

He has been traveling alot this month so had been in and out of office. So yes, i've not seen alot of him. I had to re-check that this email was from him, my President and not from a friend! It's actually quite spooky getting a friendly email from your big boss.. hahah

He must be having one heck of a holiday!

Having said that, both my bosses are very nice. President, Tony... is terrifying though, those no-nonsense tough guy and very sharp. Not much get pass him. Making him happy is challenging. My boss, the COO, Nick.. is a sweetie pie. Easy-going, understanding and encouraging. Both had been extremely kind to me especially during my last pregnancy scare - amnio test.

Tony was the first person i spoke with about the amnio test. I was basically holed up at home after test, didnt talk to anyone except Zack, msged a couple of close friends. Didnt even tell my sis and Godma. So when i went back to work 2 days later, Tony was the first i spoke to about it and embarrassingly, i was feeling quite raw and couldnt control my emotions. And to my utter shock, his eyes went red! He said i was making him cry and chased me out of the room.. haha. Who would have tot such a toughie will have a soft side. And Nick was awesome! When the negative test result was out, i went to announce to him and he said it calls for a celebration and gave me leave to go off work - it was 4.00pm!

And it was later when i found out that they had asked another colleague to keep an eye on me. Twas really thoughtful of them :)

My man... was so proud of dinner last night so i'm to blog about his masterful culinery skills.. hahah! So i shall start with the fishes he caught yesterday. Sunday was offshore fishing with Uncle Freddy and my fisherman caught these 2 fishes plus a 2kg catfish. He brought home these 2 cos they are good sizes for the 2 of us.

It's.... finally raining!!!
sky has been looking threatening for hours and it finally rained!
just got back from grocery shopping and its nice WITHOUT Zack cos i can happily dump anything i want in the basket.. haha. So i got my favourites:

- strawberries
- pear
- yoghurt
- chocolate swirl sara lee cake
- dried mangos
- blood orange juice (Zack's favourite - it's heavy!)

(and right now, i am sitting here wondering why on earth didnt i add 2 tubs of Ben&Jerrys (its on promo at $22 for 2!) and DURIANS!! - the very 2 things Zack always drag me away from!)

more i wanna get but basket was getting too heavy *sigh*
my physical limitation is getting on my nerves at times.
like on friday, Zack picked me up from work and we went to East Coast Park.
Bedok jetty was opened and Zack wanted to go check it out.
just walking that stretch of jetty, i had to stop and rest at least 5 times!
back was aching.. *sigh*
i reckon part of it had to do with our heavy dinner at Kenny Rogers..
my belly was stretched taut with all that food!
anyway... one of the woes for a preggo.

when i was smaller, there were times i'll forget i'm preg and will even run for the bus. Yet now i cant even walk long without stopping. It's a huge change for someone who walks and moves fast. As i get heavier, time seems to tick slower.. guess its nature's way of slowing me down.. haha. At times i feel like an old woman.. like now.

Gotta go lie down now.. might have strained my back a little just now.

So the most amazingly shocking thing happened to me yesterday.

Ant gave me a treat at SAGE!

ok i know i blogged about it ydae but it didnt register in my skull prior to dinner. I heard of Sage but didnt realise it's quite costly!

Well, i'm thoroughly shocked cos Ant is not exactly known for his generousity.. hehe. But i'm touched.. immensely so :) He was grumbling away how expensive it is (he picked the place mind u!) and that he is not even having sex after.. ahahaha!

Once again, my little girl tickled her tastebuds with FRENCH Cuisine! What a lucky girl!

Some mini appetisier they serve together with bread.. like amuse bouche.
It's a tomato puree concoction. A tad too sour for my liking..

But i absolutely LOVE the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar - to die for! We whacked 3 baskets of bread.. haha! Ant conveniantly used me as an excuse.. "She is pregnant so eats alot." Very clever ah...

It's nice but i prefer the clearer version i had in Venice. Venetian fish soup is the ult! Let me try finding the recipe and get Ant to cook it for me.. haha! I actually came across one but the ingredients needed proved too daunting and tedious for me.

Duck Confit
Duck leg confit on a Savoy cabbage parcel stuffed with a fricassee of field mushroom, and foie gras, potato puree and Pommery mustard jus

It is SERIOUSLY GOOD! The duck is so tender (airflown from France so the skin is thicker), and i love the mustard jus! I was happily enjoying my duck until Ant took it upon himself to inform me that the duck was cooked with fats.. lotsa it... thanks ah :S

Ant's Pork Cheek and Loin...

This new dish is not on the menu yet and cooked specially for him (so imagine how big his head was!). I passed on this cos i promised Zack i wouldnt eat pork. Despite Ant's many evil urges on how i can have that and not tell Zack. See? I kept my word and remain honest to my hubby! Anyway.. portion was tiny and i'm happy with my duck confit! :P

After dinner we popped into the kitchen to say hi to the chefs. Ant's friend Ali is one of the chefs so we got 10% off! The kitchen certainly looked cosy and fun but really crowded with 7-8 chefs in that small confined space. I'm quite amazed the chefs were all pretty young!

I treated Ant for dessert at some fancy chocolate place. Nothing interesting to blog about.. dessert was so-so. We should have gone to Bakerzinn and have that orgasmic chocolate fondue!

Crap.. i'm getting really hungry doing up this post... and might be having some serious chocolate craving :S

I should leave work behind and bounce back to my happy self.
The next few days will be full of battles but the evenings are mine to enjoy and i blardee WILL even if it kills me. For my little girl's sake, i must let go, smile and be happy.

we've been looking at a particular brand so if we find it at a good discount, we might just get it! I gotta rein Zack in cos he saw an Orbit stroller at $1.7k and he was actually interested!! :S Said our daughter must have the best! She definitely do NOT need a stroller that turns 360 degrees.. hahaha.

i'm tired.. so tired.
how can sitting down be so tiring?
but on a happy note...
....WE'RE 25 WEEKS NOW! *beams*

2 weeks to the end of the 2nd trimester!
also the end of the 'honeymoon' trimester.
soon.. i'll be more tired, having more aches, getting the chubs! (i oredi am!)
but our little princess will be growing bigger and stronger and getting ready for her grand entrance!

Zack is getting so excited as the days go by... it's so cute!

as we watch my belly get bigger, we are filled with anticipation and wonder..

Told him he better not spoil her rotten (which i'm sure he will!) and he said if she is anything like her mummy.. he'll be such a pushover. Stubborn yet get her way with doleful eyes and wiley tricks. Hey... i where got like that! bleh.. *pout*

Can't wait for our 3D scan and he was wondering how our gal will look like.. haha

I dont think i'll ever forget how happy he looked last night as we talked about our little one. Grinning from ear to ear. As he kissed my belly, he had this sheer joy and amazement on his face and said, "I still can't believe we're having a girl." :)

Believe it Daddy! We have a beautiful daughter in the making :)

An ANGEL blessed me today :)

today is a rough day at work
but i'm not gonna talk about it
once i leave the office, it stays put there
but i sure will rant to Zack later.. haha

despite the rough tumultuous events of today, i did have a wonderful start

Zack and i left home a tad behind schedule and i was grumbling to him how i'll be late cos i needed to draw money. And he was like, "Don't waste time go and draw money." I was like, "Huh? with $4 in my wallet.. i NEED to draw money." He mentioned it twice and i found it strange and hmmm... fishy. I checked my wallet and lo and behold.. there was a crisp blue note!!! (He knows i'm running low and he provides :)) Hollars: I have the sweetest hubby in the whole wide world!!! :)

and that's not all...

He was off early and wanted to go fishing. He got the fishing urge.. haha. He went earlier so he will be home early too. As we are not meeting for dinner, he asked me to go home with my sis (who works near me) and had already asked Andrew to send me home :) My nose prickled when i heard it.. the details he thought of and arrangement made just to make sure i get home safely.

It's not the big flashy stuff but little thoughtful things like these that makes me fall in love all over again :)

i'm on leave!!!

i can't remember the last time i took leave just to bum around.. doing nothing! Never had the luxury of that.. first my precious leave was for holidays, then house, wedding, next honeymoon etc.. so i always had to ration them carefully. And if i'm left with a blessed few days, i'd carry them forward to the next year. But my current coy don't allow leave to be c/f therefore i gotta clear them!

So now i'm home.. but Zack is off to work :(
He is running solo today and calling all the shots so i had been trying to persuade him to let his trainees off early today - so he could come home early.. haha. But he said this week is very crucial for them cos it's their test week. Precisely why he should let them off early (say 3pm) so they can go home and self-study right??

i got plans for today.

but it's still early and i'm feeling pretty drowsy.
maybe a short nap is in order for now.. hehe.
anyway i woke up pretty early considering our late night last night.
preggos need all the sleep noe so little jewel can grow well :D

i got new shoes! *grins*

today i told Zack i really really got no shoes for the wedding tomorrow..
so we caught a movie at TM so i can go find a pair and also buy a bolster.
i couldnt find a comfortable position last night and kept tossing and turning..
then Zack gave me his bolster and it helped!
our bed is getting cramped!

even bent down to take my shoes off!
when i decided to get them, took them to the cashier and paid for them!

i told him he cant pay for them..
i'm not a superstitious person but this is the only thing i tend to pay attention to.. that is to not buy shoes for your partner lest they run away from you.. hahahaha.. silly i know :P
and he was like, "with a big belly, where can you run to?"
hey hey Mister.. big belly preggos can be attractive okay ;P
anyway, screw it... and he bought them for me :)

but... *sigh* the heels are so low..
that's the only height he allows me to wear :(
in any case, i'm waiting out to see if my feet will expand.
then i'll get more shoes.
some preggo's feet will go up a shoe size (permanently!) during the 5th - 6th mth..
i'm waiting til the end of my 2nd tri which is in 3 weeks.
so we'll see til then..

i was getting dismay cos i cant find anything nice enough
when you are sporting a big tummy, it's hard to find an outfit.
especially when i'm not keen on maternity wear..
i still can get away with my usual clothes.
unless its the necessity of maternity work pants.
so i'm always on the lookout for normal day clothes which i can still wear after pregnancy.

but guess what i found at the back of my wardrobe???
a lovely slinky wool dress!!!
its figure hugging which emphasizes my belly bump
tried it on and yes.. it still fits!!!
i better wear it now while it does! i dunno how much longer i have!
at one month to my 3rd trimester *beams*..
i'm bracing myself for the puffiness and all things awful..

i'm trying to convince Zack to let me wear my heels but he refused *pout*
told him i'll be clinging on to him all day like creepers on a vine and wouldnt have a hairline chance of falling.. but instead my pleas fell on dead ears.. *sigh* Nevermind.. i still have 3 days to turn on my megawatt charm.
