a long one....

so i got my first paycheck.
with some backpay from last month.. it came up to a tidy sum.
siphon away the necessary: bills goes to bills, savings goes to savings.
decided to give my darling a treat, anything he fancies: budget $100.
and he said he'd like a reel (tell me why am i not surprised *smile*)

guess what i found at the supermart today?!
Viennetta!
i've been keeping an eye out for it but seems like there arent many supermarts carrying them these days.

Tribute to my dear Robin uncle... ......

my uncle (mum's brother) used to buy them whenever i visit gran's when i was little. He liked to hold 'parties' for us, cooking western food and buying us toys. Almost all of my toys were bought by him, i still have the little A&W reindeer he bought me (and i'm NOT letting the dogs have it).

Yes.. if you have noted the past tense.

He passed away.

anyway..........

i finally bought the 2 things i've been wanting to get for months!!!
not one but TWO B&Js!!!!!!

and STARDUST!!!!

i'm gonna have myself an indulgent sunday! :D

Zack is on standby for F1 this weekend.
jeez... that lucky guy is stationed at where the VVIPs are seated!
so he got the best view of the action.
i told him to stay far far away from the track...
it's dangerous!

so far he had called me twice already and i could hear the vroooming of the cars! so loud! Zack said he will take Alfie with him tomorrow to take some good shots. Ermm.... i dun remember agreeing to loan him Alfie. But he did buy it for me so i better not refuse him.. hehe.

Speaking of Alfie...
Sylvia sure made my day couple of days back!
she said she loves my SLR :)
and my photos are all nicely taken *beams*
but i forgot to tell her not all my shots were taken with my D80
some are with my cybershot.
as i always say: the cam is only as good as the photographer.. hahahha! Dun buff! :P

*sigh*
my dream... has always been to be a photojournalist.
traveling the world, immortalising the beauty God gave us.
i hope i have what it takes.
i wish i have the courage, the financial means to pursue my dream.
my darling said if he earns 10k a month, he'll support me. hahaha!
(he's so sweet :))
he already has by buying me Alfie :)
i wish i'm putting it to good use more often.

we were having a romantic stroll at ECP last night:
Z: you wanna leave me and travel the world?
J: no, when i'm pulling in the big bucks, you can quit yr job and we'll go travelling together! You can carry my tripod and all the equipment.. hehe.

What a perfect plan.... more like DREAM.

but we can always dream... it's free anyway :)

This week has been nice...
with the many events in our lives, i tot Zack and i will just have 1 day to ourselves. But we had 3!

Thurs: Combed Beach Rd to check out some fishing equipment shops. I think soon i will be very familiar with Beach Rd! It's quite funny how you'd never notice these shops around but they are quite littered around Spore. The fishing scene seems pretty vibrant here i'm surprised to report.

We had the famous Rochor Duck Rice. It's beside one fishing equipment shop and the aroma was too tantalizing to ignore.

I absolutely love the soup! It's like those bak kut teh soup. It comes with braised peanuts and kiam chay (preserved vegetables). The duck wasnt much to rave about though. Zack didnt care much for it. He thinks the one at Punggol Plaza and Jurong still wins it hands down.

This set for 2 costs $18!!!!

With this hefty pricetag, i think i'll stick with the one just next door.

Aight, that's enough blabbering on food.

I have to get ready to brace myself for the pre-monday blues. I feel it coming my way already.. *sigh*

on repeat:

Walk Away - Funeral For A Friend

Thursday, September 25, 2008

Last evening..

....Zack came to pick me up from work and we caught a movie at Vivo *beams* (the movie sucks but the company was great!)

He bought ramli burgers, goreng pisang and wadai from KTM and we had them for our dinner. At Vivo's outdoor area overlooking Sentosa.. we munched on our delectably juicy rambi burgers and goreng pisangs, chat as we watched people line-fish, wondering what fishes they can catch in such waters, laughed at weirdos who should be caught by the fashion police, ogled at old uncle with young heavily made-up woman in skimpy clothes, young couple walking with their baby in a stroller, admired the lovely clouds with the setting sun shining through and me secretly knowing that we'll be seeing something more specutacular than this if all goes as planned. This is Life. It is good :)

It's been a long time since we did something like this. And probably the only day we have to ourselves this week *sigh*. Time like this together is something i dont take for granted. So couples who are able to spend all their evenings together should count themselves fortunate.

That's why i'm so looking forward to mid Oct! Cos that's when Zack gotta teach! From mid Oct - Dec.. Normal office hours!! *grins*

the weather is getting hot and humid.
Sept and it should be getting cool.
its all erratic now.
now i'm a tad worried.
i hope the weather there will be great in dec.
it has to be!

so Zack's station is having their audit today.
my poor sweetie only came home at 4am
making sure his station is up to standard.
and had to wake at 6.45am to go to work.
that OIC badge doesnt come easy.
with such little sleep, you're not gonna believe wat i heard this morning...
him singing in the bathroom!
yes that's how cheery Zack is!
he always is! always smiling, happy and singing..
(see how much joy i bring to his life)
i for one am not a morning person.
if i start yakking away animatedly at 7am (much lest sing),
something must be wrong.

*prays*

Dear Lord, let Zack's station audit go smoothly and let them pass with flying colors. May they find favour in the eyes of the officer(s) and blind him from any mistakes that may arise. Give Zack strength for the day and keep him from harm's way as he go about his duties. Give me strength too for wat's ahead for me. Also keep the 2 gals at home safe and sound and away from any mischief.

in Jesus name i pray,
Amen.

Crap.. did you read the rabbit sweets are recalled?!?!
laced with melamine!
i ate loads of those when i was young.. one of my fav.
damn those horrible unethical people!
babies.. children! for goodness sake!
how evil can people get?!!!!

i posted these pics 2 nights back but never found the energy to do much up
so here they are.
more foodie shots!

Zack called me at 5.15pm on thursady and told me to go home early (on the dot) cos he is working dinner! *big grin* Jeez, i had to rush and could only leave at 6pm.

Asam Pedas Snapper....

.....with onions, lady fingers, spring onions, chilli..

(he said i'm to blog that he made the sauce himself! hahahahha!)

Sambal Belacan Prawns

i whacked most of it cos he dun fancy the sauce :P

He was abit disappointed with dinner but i love it! *muaks*
i love anything you cook darling! even your hybrid rice!

and he was loving enough to leave me a sinkful of dishes to wash :P

Zack said he's taking me fishing this Sunday!!
but...... at 7am... *grimace*
i'm still trying to convince him that fishes feed at 10am...

a few days ago.....
We went to his current favourite haunt. The fishing farm at Paris Ris Farmway 1.. its like WAY DEEP IN..... we can relieve the kampong days :)

and guess what?! there is this totally cute puppy!!
he has the softest blackest fur......
he is sooooooo cute!!!
i wanna steal him home!

I BELIEVE I HAVE DONE SOMETHING OUTRAGEOUS.

VERY OUTRAGEOUS.

(i cant believe i did it!!)

"together in Paris"

StarMovies was showing Anastasia this evening! So we had our dinner infront of the telly. Zack even watched it with me! *muaks* Not really his kind of show... but Anastasia is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE movie!!! i can watch it 137 times and not get sick of it. Zack was very amused by how i could sing along to all the songs... yes.. ALL the songs *giggles*

A pity he had to leave for work before this song came out during the credits. i dedicated this song to him once before.

AT THE BEGINNING

We were strangers starting out on our journey
Never dreaming what we'd have to go through
Now here we are and I'm suddenly standing
At the beginning with you

No one told me I was going to find you
Unexpected what you did to my heart
When I lost hope you were there to remind me
This is the start

(chorus)
And Life is a road and I want to keep going
Love is a river I want to keep flowing
Life is a road now and forever
A Wonderful journey

I'll be there when the world stops turning
I'll be there whenthe storm is through
In the end I wanna be standing
At the beginning with you

We were strangers on a crazy adventure
Never dreaming how our dreams would come true
Now here we stand unafraid of the future
At the beginning with you

(chorus)

I knew there was somebody somewhere
Like me alone in the dark
I know that my dream will live on
I've been waiting so long
Nothing's gonna tear us apart

(chorus)

In the end I wanna be standing at the beginning with you

JOURNEY TO THE PAST

together in Paris....
'm wishing we'll go back once more.
zack said he dun mind going back there! (his 3rd time)
maybe on our 10th wedding anniversary?
revisit the places we travelled to during our honeymoon :)
that's if Venice has not sank by then!

busy as a happy bumble bee

i came back to my place and saw Sy's email...
it was only then i realised.. It's past 5.30pm!
where did my afternoon went?
no no... where did my week went?!

busy busy... but happy busy :)
i feel alive!

but i'm feeling quite dead right now.. haha.
gotta go home soon.. cos my darling is working tonight *pout*

first time fishing!

and Zack caught 2 big snappers!!!

early morning 6.30am, Zack and Andrew went fishing at Pasir Ris farmway.
while i catch up on my beauty sleep :)

no need to guess what's for dinner tonight.. haha.
we brought 1 over for Devi to cook for their dinner.
and me shall don my apron tonight!

Zack just finished de-scaling the fish and i helped clean out the guts.
quite a stomach-turning chore :S
sadly its something i soon have to get used to doing!
cos looks like my zacky boy has a newfound hobby!!!
he said prawning is no kick now.. hahaha.

so i reckon we'll be having fresh fishes for dinner for a while :P

must be something in September...

We have a good number of globetrotters!

Dad & Mum: Japan (tonight - 20 Sept)
SY: Taiwan (25 Sept - dunno when)
Godma: Turkey (End Sept - Early Oct)

i wanna go too!!!! Not Taiwan though.. heh. Sy, just bring back a HUGE SACK of beef jerky for me :P The juicy ones, not dried ones ok? *muaks* :P

For abit i was contemplating joining Godma for her Turkey trip.. then i tot maybe i'd like to go with my laogong.. then i got a new job. Needless to say cant go for any holidays for the next 3 months. And of crse... IT'S SO BLARDEE EXPENSIVE! I can do it cheaper! Godma must be going for those tai-tai tours.

So tonight Dad and Mum flew off for their 10-day Japan holiday! Zack swing by to pick me up from work and send me home, we had a quick dinner and he went off to send his parents to the airport before going to work. They declined his offer and said they will take a bus!! *shake head* Of crse we couldnt let them do that! Wat's the use of a car if he couldnt even send his parents to the airport.. if he is able to do so. Could see how touched they were :)

Zack also supped a credit card for his dad in case of emergencies.. AND... sponsored half of their trip! I'm proud of him.. i really am :) And i'm particularly pleased that he consulted me first, "Is it okay with you?" :) I will never say No but i'm happy that he respects me as his wife enough to ask me, especially when i'm not even paying for it :)

People always say when you are picking a husband, look at how he treats his parents first. I'm comforted at what i'm seeing. BUT... he must also dote on his wife. That's of utmost importance! BUT... i dun think i have to worry in that aspect. SO FAR so good.. *grins*

I know his parents are proud of him. Of what their son has grown into. Filial, responsible and loving. I told Zack he will be richly blessed by God for his filial piety. Greatly Richly Blessed :) (hey! he is already richly blessed! With a wifey who loves him dearly! Dun buff.. its rude.)

Maybe it is the loss of my mum.. that i realise the importance of appreciating our parents while they are still alive. Live not in regrets. Whenever i hear of Sy bringing her mum/dad to Macau, Hong Kong, now Taiwan (that's another filial bugger).. i wish so badly i can do the same for my mum. The things i would give her....

Ok enough. I'm not going down that tangent..again.

tired....

wishing i can surf in bed but Zack brought the laptop to work *pout* i really am getting lazy.. Got some major research to do! *winks*

SOMETHING is in the works... shhhhhh

OH.MY.GOSH.

Train in China...

Tuesday, September 09, 2008

Today's date: 9/9/08!

i just looked at the date and realised today is the 9th of Sept!
Bet there'll be plenty of weddings today.
ahhhh.... no wonder we saw a wedding car at our carpark last night and this morning, just when we drove out, a black merc with garish orange ribbons was driving alongside us. Zack was wondering.. "Who gets married on a Tuesday?" Now we know why.....

since i'm early, i went to Yakun and bought breakfast:
:: 2 soft-boiled eggs
:: kopi

nothing perks me up like a yakun!
just the thought of the kopi tingles my tummy.. hehe
one of the daily topic between Sy and i will be our kopi
"had your perk-me-up?"
"i need my fix badly!!!"
and grumblings from her cos the kopi prices went up.. haha.
i've always tot it's $0.90 til she corrected me ydae.. it's $1.30 now!
never a concern of mine cos i drink 3in1.. haha!
Morning Sun - a cheapo brand from those minimart.
cheap cheap and ohsonice!

oh oh! i wanna talk about this tunic i saw ydae!!!
it's SO GORGEOUS!
knitted, cowl-necked, 3/4 butterfly sleeves, tunic.
teamed it with a thick belt, tights and boots.. ULTRA CHIC!
i tried it on and i really looked great!!!
Jessica Alba wore something like this in her movie 'Awake'
but it was long sleeves (winter then)
and i've been on the lookout for something similar since.
religiously scouring VS website but nothing comes close.
and i found it!!!
the 3/4 butterfly sleeves is more appropriate for our weather too!
i would have bought it there and then but for the price... $140!!! *sigh*
i went home to think it over...
but i like it too much to pass it over... yes that HOW MUCH i like it!!
SO I'M GONNA BUY IT TODAY!!!
i'll grab Evelyn to go shopping after work!

okay time's up.
back to work.

1 wedding and a funeral

i may not know you but may you rest in peace...
"he had lived well and he had died well."

i love Pik Yee... she's such a sweet and wonderful woman.
a woman of God with such warmth and love.
i'm praying for God's strength and courage for her and her family to face what's ahead.

*HUGS*

my very own yummy maggi goreng....

....with love from my hubby :)

happy 7th sweetheart!
50 of them! *muaks* :)

mop the floor OR cook dinner? how about neither? *winks*

i picked up the broom and started sweeping the floor. Plopped down next to Zack (he's watching tv) after i was done. He must be in an appreciative mood and he offered to mop the floor! Whoa.. *grins* Okay! After awhile i asked him what he wanted for dinner. I bought some ingredients so could make dinner and something for him to bring to work later. Then i decided to try my luck: "you know.. i really miss your maggi goreng.. it's sooo good!" *grins* (hoping that he had forgotten about his offer to mop the floor) But he replied: "Haha.. ok so its either i mop the floor or i cook dinner. You choose." Jeez.. nothing get past my hubby.. especially when it comes to housechores!

So i chose to mop the floor. I really do miss his maggi goreng.

And guess what?!! While i was surfing youtube for this song we heard on tv (still early, dun need to mop floor yet).. i heard him in the toilet. He's mopping the floor!! AND COOKING DINNER! I told him i'd do it but he was like.. "its ok lah.." Awwww.. my laogong is so sweet!! *grins*

Ok ok.. i shant blog anymore. Let me go help him with dinner :)

Let me clue u guys in on a secret. We women are effort-oriented. Do a little for us, you will be immensely rewarded *winks*

while their wives and MIL had a good bonding session :)

*break* my mac delivery is here! Gonna go wake my sleeping beauty.

just checking my email and read this article from Sean.
pretty good so i'm sharing it.

THE NINE LIES WOMEN TELL THEMSELVES ABOUT MEN
http://www.adventistreview.org/article.php?id=2061

in a slightly different context, i suppose the reverse can be said for men about women.

it reminded me of this quote from the movie The Holiday. This Jude Law/Cameron Diaz/Kate Winslet/Jack Black flim. When we came to this part, i grabbed Zack and was like.. "Wow! That's so true!" We see it happening right before us!

Iris: Because you're hoping you're wrong. And every time she does something that tells you she's no good, you ignore it. And every time she comes through and suprises you, she wins you over, and you lose that argument with yourself, that she's not for you.

i would like to think we did what we could as friends. But i told Zack he might have tried harder but he said its pointless to say more than he did and its up to them to decide for themselves. It's their lives ultimately and all we can say is.. "Good luck." True. Still a pain to watch. Oh well.. *shrug*

alrighty... i'm going back to bed for a nap.
we are going for Vernon and Taze's wedding tonight! ;)

have a good weekend!
*waves*

i'm quite tired to blog...
so i shall leave you with a pic of my latest craving.

Maggi Goreng! (with mutton cubes)

my sweetheart picked me up from work these 2 days :)
(he's the sweetest! but my heart aches at the hefty ERP charges)
so tonight we went to Jalan Kayu for dinner.
Zack's craving for satay has been ebbed too.
he loves the satay at Jalan Kayu.
and my.. the teh tarik was good!
i finished mine in a jiffy and while Zack was engrossed telling me about his work.. i stealthily swapped our cups *giggles*
he didnt realised! (right under his nose somemore! hehehe) and wondered how did he finished his so quickly.. hahahahaha!

now i'm feeling bloated :(
too much milk tea......
serves me right for being greedy... :S

okie gtg now.
early to bed.
early to rise.
makes ju healthy and wise!

Sunday, August 31, 2008

So i spent a happy few hours last night printing photos!
after 2 months, its high time i make use of the nice white machine sitting next to me.
it's a printer/scanner/copier.
please dun ask me why we need a copier.
with a collection of thousands of pics,
i deem it fit to immortalise the good ones.
But... i got a problem.
there are too many!!!

So i picked out our honeymoon pics.
*sigh* i felt a bang just surfing thru them.
the kissing shot at St Marks Square at night..
the b/w shot of the Louvre..
lunching at Les Ombre with the Eiffel Tower view..
eating gelato at Florence..
feeding pigeons at St Marks Square..
I LOVE VENICE!
munching on warm nutella crepes along Seine River at night..
us atop Arc D'Triomphe overlooking the entire Paris city..

i also noticed that Zack has so many awesome shots.
i took so many of him!
not that i wanna praise my hubby but he is sooooo dashing!
i gotta keep him in my pocket.. hehe.

*sigh*

:(

*sobs*

i wanna go back...
i want time to stand still there.

Going to Paris holds something special for me.
While we were landing in Paris, i looked out from the plane and saw the beautiful twinkling lights. It was at night. I thought of my mum. Zack wondered at my puffy eyes after but i couldnt talk of it then.

I was in school and my french class organised a field trip to France. I was beside myself.. bubbling with excitement i asked my mum if i could go. It was 3k. Said to be relatively cheap cos we will be covering not only Paris but also Normady, Burgundy and various part of France. My mum said okay if i want to. But i changed my mind later cos 3k was alot of money for us and things were quite tight for us then. I comforted myself by saying its ok, i would one day go to Paris with someone special. Wouldnt it be more meaningful? It was only after my mum's death did my godma told me that my mum had actually saved and set aside the 3k for me. My mum.. has always strived to provide for us.. to give us the best she could. Even if she has to scrimp and save on herself.

As i looked out at Paris from the plane.. it reminded me again of how much my mum loves me. How much she wants to give me everything.. even if sometimes it's not within her means.

Yes mi.. i made it to Paris. With the man i love.. on our honeymoon. With the man i'm gonna spend the rest of my life with. Don't worry, he loves me very much and takes good care of me. You will love him. And yes, its more meaningful. Way more :) I love you. I love you for everything you've given me. For everything you've done for me, sacrificed for me. I will see you soon one day. I miss you...

This is Zack and i in Paris... on the Arc D'Triomphe

and on the Eiffel Tower...

i've grown up.. and i'm looking more like you. I got your smile :) Some of my wedding pics bears a strong resemblance to you :) Yes that's Isaac.. he is a good christian boy and he loves God. He is also very filial to his parents. But he smokes shisha at times which is rather unhealthy. If you got the time, maybe you can come talk to him and tell him it's not good for him? We are having dinner with his parents tonight. They are very lovely people. Jie and i recently had dinner with your husband and his wife. Her makeup was thick as pancake and cheeks like baboon's backside! hehe. You look way better! I hope she wouldnt run away with his money. I'm sure you already know what a bastard he was years back and i told him just that. I know you wouldnt be happy but i wouldnt allow him to disrespect you in any way. I'm sure you know of those battles we fought. Do you know he used your money to buy a Rolex and said its your gift to him! But jie and i got nothing from 'you'! I hope you had haunted him all these years! (But you love him so much.. i dunno why) Just like that old witch. Did you see what i did to her at your one month anniversary just infront of you?? I chased her away. She had the gall to touch your stone!! She could really act! Her tears were like tap.. off and on in a second.. just like her son. I know you wouldnt be happy i did that as well but i have to mi! Nobody bullies you and get away with it. He didnt defend you all those years so i shall. i know, i'm still a fighter cock but i've mellowed already! Really! i'm very guai now.. you can ask jie and godma. Jie and i will be visiting you soon. Love you..

MY OMEGA! - up close and personal

So i thought a post will deem fit for my preciousssss *beams* Long before this post ends, you'll probably be having dreams/or sick of my Omega.. hahaha! Just once more.. let me gush! :P

A Seamaster Aqua Terra. Why not a Constellation? A popular choice amongst ladies. The one endorsed by Cindy Crawford, Nicole Kidman. The signature bracelet, one glance from afar and people will know it's an Omega. Eyed a couple but somehow it didnt quite cut it for me. It was a tad too feminine. Something was missing, that click. (you know.. like choosing THE Wedding Gown)

Came across other models, other brands but i just keep coming back to this one. Then there's the matter of the pricetag... *sigh* I searched out ways to get it cheaper.. retailers, even gray markets which proves to be risky. I even emailed Omega! The max discount is 15%.. flat. No negotiation. I called all the authorised dealers and tried cajoling them for at least a 20% to no avail. Omega tightly control their pricing. It appears that with high-end products, it's close to impossible to get good discounts. They dont wanna cheapen the brand by offering high discounts. I asked myself why didnt i fall for a Tag.. i can get 35% off!

The selection process is stringent!... they have to meet these minimum criteria:
1) Automatic:
It has to be Automatic. I'm not willingly to spend anything above $1k for a quartz.

2) Dial - Mother of Pearl:
That gorgeous pearly sheen..

3) Diamonds:
Hmmm.. not quite essential. Just a nice-to-have. In fact i was contemplating the one without diamonds cos it's less costly. But my sweetheart bought me the one with diamonds! Awww... *muaks* :) He said he also checked out the one with diamond bezel!!! I wouldnt put it past him to buy that for me! But i'm mighty glad he didnt. It's ridiculously priced and too ostentatious for my liking.

4) Timeless:
A simple classic design that can stand the test of time.

5) Subtly Classy:
Not looking for a formal dress or something bold and loud. I want something that requires a second look and it grows on you. You can look at it a hundred times and still be mesmerized. 3 weeks and still i look at my watch and not know the time! haha.

SEAMASTER AQUA TERRA
With a linege that goes as far back as 1947, the Seamaster line was introduced as a Diving watch. It pioneered the line of 'water proof' watches back then. It was a significant breakthrough in the evolution of water resistent watches. The Aqua Terra series was only introduced in 2003 as a direct descendent from the marriage between the sporty Seamaster and classic dressy De Ville.

sounds PERFECT! :)

The backcase. A pity it isnt a clear sapphire crystal display so the movement can be seen. Some of the Seamasters have a clear display though.

i love the bracelet! as compared to the ones of Constellation's.

i just so love how the diamonds sparkle *sigh*
the pics here just dont do it justice...

Just to share what i've learnt in the voyage of my quest :)
Came across this site which proved to be very helpful if you're considering purchasing a high-end watch or any product for that matter. There is even a forum where you can seek advice from people who are more knowledgeable horologically.

Check out the hierarchy of watches.. it's very informative.
http://www.chronocentric.com/watches/brands.shtml

I like this writeup.
"If Rolex is not the only superior watch brand, why haven't I heard of these other watches?
Popularity is only one indication of a superior product. In most cases, the general public knows only certain brands which were well publicized as the 'best of the best' and may be totally unaware of other equal or superior products that are available. If you asked the average person-on-the-street about watches, they would probably tell you the market starts with Timex and Casio, moves up to Seiko, then TAG, and reaches its epitome with Rolex.

Yet the most popular or well known choices frequently are not what the true aficionado would select. I'm sure you would find your man-on-the-street sample would also be unaware of the true collectors' choices of wines, cigars, audiophile equipment, sports cars, or writing instruments. Similarly, they will unlikely know the additional fine watch brands such as Alain Siberstein, Audemars Piguet, Blancpain, Chopard
(i like the Happy watch! :P), Fortis, Franck Mueller (...and a Crazy Hour!), IWC, Jaeger-Le Coultre, Patek Phillipe, and Ulysse Nardin to name a few.

In many products, the well-known brands like Bose, MontBlanc, Sony, and Rolex dominate their markets from global name recognition. While they do have quality products, they are not always the only superior choice. Success can spoil the innovation, the competitive edge, and the uniqueness that was what built the reputation these companies and products enjoy today. Sure, if you want to impress the general public, you buy names anyone will recognize--sometimes even without regard to outrageous premium prices or quality and features that are less than one would expect from their "leader of the pack" reputation.

But the true connoisseurs and aficionados buy what impresses *them*, which may often include brands that the general population would not even recognize."

No truer words said!
Just some food for thought. Some personal evaluation.
Isn't the whole point missed if you buy a luxury watch just for the sake of owning one? For that status symbol? Ridiculous. Superficial. A person can be wearing a Rolex and behave in an arrogant manner.. it'll still turn people off. How impressive can that be? Oh well... to each his own. *shrug*

Meanwhile..... i'm driving Zack crazy *giggles*

*while watching the Olympics* "Do you know who is the official timekeeper of the Olympics?? *wink wink*"
"Come darling.. let me tell you the time!"
"My diamond markers tell me the time is......"

Zack will then roll his eyes and go: "It's not your diamond markers that tells you the time!" hahahaha!

you should see his face when i told him maybe i'll take up the hobby of collecting watches! AHAHAHAHAHA! (i got one in line.. hehe.. but not anytime soon :P)

i'm also considering buying a watchwinder. It's for automatic watches when it's not in used. It keeps the movement mechanics running smoothly. Zack's Speedmaster is also an Automatic so a watchwinder will be good!

....now he's probably wishing he didnt buy me the Omega! Ahahahaha!

Jeez.. okay i shant go on too much about my Omega. I don't want to get some husbands into trouble!

So tonight Zack and i caught this thai paranormal flick at Vivo.. called '4Bia'. It consists of 4 short stories involving paranormal happenings. Said to be the next scary flick after 'Shutter'. The 1st and 3rd were goooood! Though i closed my eyes at the scary parts.. haha. The 4th one was supposed to be the best.. it always is. But just when things were getting exciting, Zack received an activation call from station! There was a physical recall so he had to be back in station in 40mins!

Boy did we rushed. Left the cinema part way *sigh* and ran all the way to the carpark. He drove like a devil and i was beside him helping with his calls. His 2 hps kept ringing and i helped make calls to his colleagues. Then as we were halfway there.......... a call came.

THE RECALL ACTIVATION WAS CANCELLED!!!!

Apparently there was an error and some idiot must have activated the recall by mistake! WTH?!!!!!

And we missed the best part of the flick for nothing!! Urgh!!! Now we will keep wondering what happened in the last story.

Oh well..... at least the recall was cancelled so we get to come home early to rest. So beat. I shall head to bed now.. there's work tomorrow. And its Friday with a capital F!!!!

Nites~

So i survived my first day of work.

if you asked me how i feel about my new job, i'd give you different answers at various times of the day.

i'm still hoping that Zack will open his Arnolds outlet then i can manage it and be the Lady Boss :D

So what did i do on my last day of freedom?

Zack and I went KITE FLYING!

Bought a kite from Bali and finally decided to have a go at it. It will be more enjoyable if the grass wasnt too bumpy and some areas werent muddy. Brought the 2 gals along and my... what a mess they were! haha. Didnt think they enjoyed too much cos Pappe hates getting dirty (she's a fussy princess) and the bumpy grassland proved a challenge for Chile's short legs.. haha. But they were good sports and ran/walked from one end of the field to the other with us. *squeeze them both tight tight*

Things to take note for our next kite flying session:
1) Wait til it hasnt rained in 2 days
2) Good wind
3) Long tail for the kite

We went home after an hour and Zack bathed the 2 of them while i cooked dinner. It was a nice homey routine :) We had a nice hearty home-cooked meal of Beef Rendang, Marmite Chicken and Sambal Ladys Fingers with egg. Cooked a little extra so i could pack a supperbox for Zack to bring to work. He doesnt mention it but i know he loves it when i does that :) The dogs also had chicken for dinner and knocked out right after.. haha.

Zack reminded me that he bought marmite awhile back so i decided to try my hand at Marmite Chicken!

Tada~

it was actually a flop!
but the pic here looks good i decided to post it up... hahahah!
we thought some sweet sauce should be added to the mix.
marmite is just too salty on its own. *grimace*
nvm... there's always next time.
:)

we changed roles tonight...

Zack behind the stove.
Ju holding a mop (not that he holds the mop very often)
:D

Zacky's catch from his prawning sessions.
this is really incredibly good!
sweet crunchy prawns..
and the sauce he made was magnifique!

and fries!!!

dont be deceived by its mangled look.
they are crispy on the outside and mashy on the inside.
dusted with chilli powder and salt.
my darling can give Mr Donald a run for his money! :P

so tonight...
we got a clean house
and full happy bellies!

Zack is now prawning with Adrian.
some brotherly time is good.
while i came home to finish up my chores.
ironed and changed the sheets.

*hungry*
i feel like more of zack's fries....

i am officially unemployed....

...for 3 days.

i didnt realised i've amassed quite some junk in a mere 2 years.
but it's all work papers junk.
i dont decorate my workplace with too many personal stuff.
but it still came up to 3 bagsful!

my plant knew.......

......and it died.

it's really strange how it died right after i signed my appointment letter with the other company. I kid you not. I'm not what you'll call a green finger so it's amazing how i kept this plant alive for 2 years! I bought it when i joined this company.

and this little pic and tag has been following me for 2 companies.
they shall continue on to the 3rd!
This Pic: is actually our 2nd pic, couple of days after we started dating :) Every colleague who saw this pic said my bf (then) so handsome! One even call him 'Tay Ping Hui'... even til now! hahahha.. (i think my darling is more handsome *smirk*)
This Tag: zack doodled this tag when he visited my 1st coy, while waiting for me to be done with work :)

i shall add more pics in my new workplace! i got more room!

the view of the harbour port and sea...

...will be sorely missed.

With 3 bags of stuff, 1 fat psychology book, 1 bridal magazine which i couldnt bear to throw.. taking the train was close to impossible. Taking a cab was an alternative i wasnt keen to consider. 20bucks! Cab is just one place i dun like spending my precious money on. So i called my hubby in hopes he will come pick me up after his work. But the minute he knew i was still at work, he said he'll swing by! *grins* hehe. I didnt have to ask!

After 2 years, my hubby finally saw my workplace :)

So i said my farewell to the empty office and we left.

the first of the stampede.
7 in my wake.
3 departures next week
4 more next month.
1 pending to tender.
weak management.
lack of direction.
gossips.
conflicts among each other.
people dun like each other.
to list a few.
tiring.. so tiring.

oh well.....

Appreciate all the colleagues who made the effort to meet up with me for lunch. 2 even brought me to a costly restaurant! And all who came by yesterday to chat with me, the 'all the best', 'i'm gonna miss you' chats and the farewell calls, i deeply appreciate them.. and it's these ppl i will remember by :)

Thursday, August 21, 2008

i've officially spent 12.5hours in the office.

tomorrow is my last day at work.
do i feel sad? or am i rejoicing?
strangely... i feel nothing.
my colleagues had been awfully nice to me.
buying me farewell lunches and all which i'm very touched.
being an emotional person, i'd feel an awful lot of stuff.
but this... this detachment seems surreal.

oh well... i got better things to do than analyze my lack of emotions pertaining to my departure.

like go home.

i'm done here.
yet quite not.
i've laughed plenty.
yet only hear the resounding silence.
let's indulge in paradoxicality.
it screws your mind then wrings it dry.
i love those words that speak the truth
yet wraps itself with lies.

crap.
i need to get out of here!
my home is my restoration.
my love is... my love.
haha!

onward soldier!

need my fix this morning.
can barely keep my eyes open.
dozed off while watching the olympics with Zack last night.
i have to say the male high jumpers are cute!
i looked at my sweetheart and said he can be a high jumper *grins*

now..... my diamond markers (i'm driving Zack crazy*giggles*) say it's time.

so to work... i slog.

*heavy-hearted*

Gravely saddened.
Deeply shocked.

Relationship breaking down and it is the unlikeliest one. The second one of late but one pulled through by God's Grace. I hope this one will too. Shocked.. too shocked. One of the most stable relationship i've always admired. I feel so much for you.. i'm so sorry this happened. But i suppose no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. That the unlikeliest persons can surprise you. I dunno what to think. Not my place to judge. I can only pray that God will work his miracle on your marriage. From the very bottom of my heart, i wish you both the best.

*sigh*

so many whys, so many hows.
i guess no one can totally understand the why and the how. Things just happened. We cant control the actions and thoughts of someone. But we can on how we live our lives. I suppose marriage as marriage is.. always a gamble. You dunno when life will throw a curveball. And how well a marriage can handle itself depends on how strong its foundation is. I'm no expert here. Still learning. Still building our foundation.. layer by layer. I would like to think Zack and i are doing things right. We have many ups and little downs and strange as it sounds, it kinda worries me. Can our ship survive when the kraken comes? Not many test trials we have. Sometimes i tell Zack we should quarrel for the sake of quarelling. Oh that tension! (And the makeup sex is always good!) He thinks i'm nuts.. haha.

*sigh*

It always depresses me when i learn of such bad news. From people i care about. In the little perfect world residing in my head, bad things dont happen to good people. But sadly we live not in a perfect world. We live in a world where anything goes.. the good, the bad.. and everything in between.

i'm starting to stop making much sense. This tells me it's time i adjourn to bed.. with Neil Gaiman. It's a nice quiet night.. with a drizzle outside. How i wish my love is home with me.. but he is needed to save lives out there so i loan him to the world for tonight... just tonight.

work tomorrow..
*sigh*

Men and their ride... j'ne comprend pas.

One down.
Zack got the front grill replaced.
why?
Cos it doesnt look nice.. *roll eyes*
it all looks the same to me.
but my hubby happy so i happy :P

Tada! New grill!

20 June: added 3 meters
July: new lips around the car - it's quite nice actually.

i wonder what's next...
never quite get it but i mostly just go along.

too many durians.
too full.
too fat.
too bloated.
no dinner.
no dinner.

i just wanna veg at home....
*yawns*
but its sat night so we should go out!
(then i can wear my present.. hehe)
oh well, i'm quite tired of blogging now so i shall end off here and join my darling infront of the telly.

have a great weekend ahead folks!
so give that loved one of yours a HUGE hug now
or call that someone and tell him/her you're thinking of him/her!
