where are we going for dinner??!!!!
Zack tricked me good! i thought we were going to Raffles Hotel.
As it was early i suggested parking at Raffles City so we could go browse the shops then walk over to Raffles Hotel. At 6.55pm, he steered me toward Swissotel and i was like, "Arent we going to Raffles Hotel?" he just grinned away... Then i tot, "EQUINOX!" But i was clearly wrong again.......

i almost fainted! I thought it was the Equinox but gosh.. this beats it! I didnt know anything could!!! It's a very exclusive french restaurant who only hosts 11 tables.

a 7 course meal!

something fun for us before we start..
the cone was stuffed with crabmeat! It's incredible!


Duo of lobster scented with fresh basil, peach ravioli and green apple tapioca tartar
it all tastes soooooo good! I love the green apple tapioca tartar and lobster claw!!


Roasted sea scallop, vanilla/vitelotte "Parmentier" and baby herbs
basically purple potato puree... and the sea scallop is out of this world..


Kaffir lime and scented spices consomme with Alaskan King Crab
the green bob is a ravioli which burst forth more of the consomme when you burst it in your mouth.. and the crabmeat... WHOA~


Perigord foie gras creme brulee with spice bread powder
a pity you can't really taste the foie gras from the sweetness of the burnt sugar of the creme brulee.

Grilled goby filliet on a bed of oyster tartar with lemon confit, baby sorrel and orange vinaigrette
No pic cos i was too in awe with my present to think about taking photos. I only vaguely remember how this dish tastes like!

And the waitress announced that our main course is on its way!
we were like "what?! Main course?? Then wat had we been eating??"

Slice of seared wagyu beef, fine puree of green peas, onions marmalade and Laguiole cheese galette
the beef was wonderfully done and guess what's on top? Black truffle!! (Ant will die.. hehe)

Now we go on to PRE-DESSERT!
hahaha... yeah there're all sorts of stuff!

Guess how long this dinner ran to? 3.5hours! 7pm - 10.30pm. It is also the most expensive meal we've ever had! But also the most memorable one in Singapore *glows* For $700, we didnt think it's worth the pricetag cos an equivalent in Paris will be the same or even slighter less expensive.. and hey, it's Paris! So we're thankful for the discount we enjoyed :)

Done with dinner.. full, sated and in high spirits.. we drove around and ended up in Sentosa! Hahaha.. yeah at like 11+pm! Did something we've been wanting to do! *grins*


Now on to what everyone has been asking me!
"What did Zack buy for you??"

He carried it in a LV paperbag.. leading me to think it's a LV bag. Yeah like he would announce to me its a LV if its REALLY a LV. Plus the shape was off.. the box was like a cube and small for a bag. So i wasnt fooled.. haha! But good try darling.. good try :P

Honestly, i was a tad embarrassed to tell anyone. I only told 1 person the next day cos i was simply bursting with excitement.. and that's my boss. Then my sis only after she bugged me the second time. They both said.. "Did he do something wrong??" hahahaha! I asked him that too! You should see the look he gave me.. hahahha! Of crse not! Zack is just the most generous doting hubby who loves his wifey dearly *beams* So poor thing... generous to wife, then get suspected for some wrong doing.. hahahaha. We women are so hard to please.. haha. *muaks* LOVE YA! :)

Zack whisked me off to BALESTIER!

There is this newly opened 24-hour Food Centre so we went to check it out.
with all the prawning we had been doing..
i had craving for Prawn Noodles.

$3.50.

this BBQ chicken stall has a Makansutra cert!
$1.20 per pc.

but we both thought it isnt anything fantastic.

We will definitely go back again!

A walk down memory lane at Balestier... browsing those Lighting shops. Imagine it was 2 over years since we were there scouting for our lights. It was a memorably fun process :) Oh you might be interested to know that the lighting designs we have in Singapore are on par or superior to the ones in Italy! I kid you not. We were very surprised. Yup.. just so you know..

We also went to the Tile shop.. haha. We have plans to tile our living room (it's cement screeding now) and do up our common toilet. I love tile shopping! Imagine all the possibilities! Zack was more interested in the toilet.. haha. We chose this dark tile in running pattern for our living room. I like the dark grey, close to black design. And i have the urge to paint our living room! Now we need to find contractors and get quotations.... I'm hoping we can do everything below 2K but that looks bleak. I told Zack he gotta stop bugging about selling our house once we do this mini reno. The market value of our flat is now double of what we bought it for! Wooohooooo! but i cant bear to sell it..... I LOVE OUR HOME! :)

so far he had already used up 1 free pass to go clubbing and 1 favour to buy his big fish tank. Goodness.. i have to find my way around to retrack that back and put a ceiling to it!

The aquarium shop at Balestier seems to have closed down (thank God!!!) but on our way back he spotted one at Boon Keng (i should have prayed harder!). He took so long to get it, choosing the pump and light that i ended up watching Channel U with the aunty.

After fishtanking, we went to IKEA!!! Dont you just love Ikea.....

i need sleep badly......

wide awake at 5am!

just got back from prawning!
2.5 hours, 9 prawns
i prawned for only 1 hour while Zack continued for another 1.5hours
jeez... i didnt know what i did for 1.5hour!
just sitting there waiting for my love to be done.
i looked at my shots, admire my present, took some shots, tried engaging Zack in conversations to no avail... *pout*
yeah when you prawn you dun really talk.. you must concentrate.. on what i'm not sure of.
i was day-dreaming yet caught 5 of the prawns!
what can i say.. i'm good! hahahah....

now Zack just came in and said he wanna keep the prawns :S
out of 9, 7 are still alive!
i thought we're gonna eat them??

Zack made me cry on my birthday....

I'm currently running on adrenalin.

Slept at 3.30am last night. Like a little child, i refused to go to bed cos i just didnt want my night to end!!!

No words could describe last night.. the best i could come up with are OVERWHELMINGLY SPECTACULAR!

I'm still reeling from it!!

In my 27 years of existence, no one ever came close to what Zack did for me last night. The indulgence, the generousity.. it's unbelieveable! i thought i was gonna die from it!!!

Zack planned a series of surprises for me. A post is in good order complete with pics.. i took tons! Rightfully deserves a good post. It's THE birthday of my lifetime! *glows*

Dinner was a whopping... $700!!! No it's not typo.. SEVEN-ZERO-ZERO! *faints* Zack had a discount card so thankfully we didnt have to pay that crazy sum! But the final bill was still a hefty sum.. *sigh* I didnt want any wine cos it's gonna be ex but Zack just gave me a wink and said.."its just once a year, just order what you like :)" awww..... *melts* So we had champagne!! but i refused another bottle of Evian ($21!) and red wine for the main.

And then Zack gave me my present.......

He probably didnt receive the kind of reaction he expected - screaming with joy.. hahaha. I was speechless... i could only manage a feeble.. "why... why did you buy me this?" then i started to tear...... *sigh* it was too much for my heart to handle.. twas close to bursting. I didnt know what to say.. i looked at Zack and was just speechless. Can anyone possibly love me this much? The surprise ride.. the extravagant dinner.. the lavish gift.. the planning, the over-the-top celebration.. all these for me? It's not the pricetag but the extent he will splurge on me... that leaves me in awe. I dont need luxuries.. just knowing that he wants to provide those for me.. is enough.. more than enough.

so i made breakfast for Zack.

wonder where he's taking me!

i'm all knotted up about something else too.
there's something boiling in my pot.
it's been brewing since last year.
i reckon it's time for fruition.
the timing is about right too.

It's raining! Lovely cool weather the entire afternoon.
hopfully it'll stop in time for the National Day Parade.

we watched the opening of the Olympics last night.
my.. i'm impressed with the works!
and watching all the various countries coming together..
imagining all of them coming together to sing praises to God!
how wonderful that will be!!!

we got the whole night all stacked up.
dinner at Bliss Cafe with Zack's parents and Adrian.
ahhhh... Zack told them it's for my bday *shy*

then prawning with my sis and Andrew
my sis wanna do a countdown to my bday.. ahahahhaha!
