Zack's been calling me 'si bak gao' - direct translation: four eye monkey. (He's very proud of his NEAR perfect eyesight) I always reply, "You know karma? it will come one day. Watch for it ya." So it did. Its about time. muahahaha!

Time to make a pair and we popped into this optical shop at PS.

He loved this oakley specs but thought the price was too hefty. So he decided on a much cheaper frame - half the price. Knowing my hubby's heart desire (you should see the lust in his eyes), i called the optical shop the next morning and got them to change it to the oakley frame! and top up the diff for him. He doesnt know it, it's a surprise for him! Just collected it on my way home.

He's gonna be sooo happy! *grins*
can't wait for him to come home :P

So i relented and cooked this weekend.

Zack finally had his craving ebbed.

intended to hold out a couple more weeks but...
they must've call it 'Love'.

i'm kinda bored right now.
Zack has gone off to work and there's nothing interesting on TV.
Chagrined from sleeping way too much this weekend.
And i'm feeling the monday blues already.. *sigh*
last week at work was a series of battles... no joke.
i wasnt kidding when i said it is a thankless job.
dealing with people is a nasty business..
and in my office.. nasty unreasonable people aplenty.

3 weeks to Bangkok!!!!

to kick off the weekend: nice dinner with dear friends and a 6-car pile up!

So on Friday, packed my 'homework' and left the office at 6.30pm to meet the gang (Mark,Fu, Des, Shu Han, Zack) at Novena Square for a nice dinner at WARAKU! Saw Fu on the way and went to see some shoes while searching for the restaurant. He was more excited about the shoes than i.. gosh i love this guy! Perfect to bring him along for shopping in future. Haha. Oh, he finally bought his Fred Perry shoes. Happy ya? :P

it's simply relaxing and cosy just enjoying a nice meal with dear friends :) I'm still kicking myself for not taking any pics! The light was good. *sigh* Food was good too albeit expensive. I find myself craving for the Epi Lipah (Fried rice with prawns). The guys were happy.. they each bought a dozen of Donut Factory! (Needless to say what i had for lunch today). And Des got fans! We were on the escalator when this guy from the opposite direction walked past and turned back, said to his friend "Isnt that Desiree??" Woooooooo......! Our gal got fans! :D

the rest went for beer while zack and i went back home. Poor zack was dead beat. Packing a mere 4 hours of sleep, he woke up at 6.30am and headed off to CDA (Choa Chu Kang) for training (yes, he's a trainer now!) and whisked off to Marky's at 4pm to paint a blackened wall before his mum comes home! A tatami caught fire the night before during their jamming session!!! Thank goodness Fu brought it out of the basement after putting out the flame. But unbeknownst to them, the cotton deep inside was still burning and by morning, we got a lovely charred tatami which comes with a blackened wall and 2 cracked floor tiles. So mark and zack spent 2 hours painting the wall and putting the place back in shape. Evidence cleared and none the wiser.. hahahah!

On our way home on the expressway.....
We saw a 6-car pile up! And of crse my civic-hearted hubby stopped to help. He walked around to check for casualties or injuries and called the ambulance. 2 ladies were complaining of back pains. Cracked windscreens all over the place, boots and dashboards smashed in, boy, the insurance companies will have a field day. Everyone was taking pictures, exchanging contacts. At least no tempers flew. We left when the ambulance arrived.

Cant help a surge of pride when Zack went forward, identified himself as a Paramedic and took charge. Making sure everyone was alright. He was off duty and didnt even have to stop to help. And not stopping to help was simply unthinkable to him. My man. My Hero.. *sigh*

Zack said such accidents are also good places to check out which car models are good.. hahhahah!

We had numerous conversations over dinner, talking about work after a long day. And we can truly empathise the nature of each other's job. Different industry. Different environment. Different dynamics. One similarity: It's a thankless job. But he loves his job which is most important, he is good at what he does and is doing very well :) I can ask him any medical situation and he can sprout out those bombastic medical term or medicine at the top of his head. I call him my walking medical encyclopedia.

My job?
It has its rewards though few and far between. But receiving thank you notes from colleagues during Christmas, thanking me for a job well done for the company.. sure dissipates those dark thoughts. Did my performance appraisal with my boss recently. Keeping in mind it ties in with bonus, she's giving me the highest grade! Then she told me she's grooming me as her successor.. i had a double take. When she leaves, she doesnt want the management to get a replacement but for me to step up and wear the mantle. Oh my gosh...... Needless to say, that wouldnt be for eons but knowing that my boss has something of this magnitude in store for me.. is indeed touching and encouraging.

We can only thank God and give Him the glory.

cool! i just realised Fu took a shot at Waraku while fiddling with my hp.. now we got pics to see!

Talking Watch. They were looking at Ration's watch, which is currently under Fu's care while holidaying in Taiwan.
They found out about someone's watch.... haha.

Didnt get home til past midnight after my company CNY dinner. Took a warm shower then snooze right off. When zack came home at 9am, i was still dead to the world. He gotta drag me up for breakfast. By 10.30am i was back in bed and didnt wake til 5pm! and that's only bcos zack's alarm went off. So that makes it...... 14.5 hours of koon! shiokssssss.....

Very low-key for this coy event. I'm usually all decked up for coy events. Hairdo, makeup and nice clothes. But this time lazy to do anything. Just a tube top and long pink ombre skirt. Last year CNY dinner... i even got tipsy! This year.. i was sitting with my office most eligible guy (extremely nice, good-looking and oh so gentlemanly) but i couldnt even work out the energy for some flirting. Just kidding.. haha! He's getting married lah and i love my hubby. Sigh.. i must be getting old. I'm losing it.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

This morning, i took special care in my clothes. Managed to dig out a long forgotten asymmetrical tube tunic, bought at Mel (or was it Gold Coast?) 5 years ago. Only 5 years? It seems way longer than that.. and thankfully i can still fit in! And in good spirit of the occasion, i put on the lovely wavy heart crystal necklace my love bought me 2 Valentines Day back :) Tada~ and i'm all set to rock'n'roll tonight!

After days of touching the satiny snowy ribbon.. bringing it with me everywhere i go at home (watching tv, reading in bed, surfing in the com room).. i can finally open my blue box tonight!!

after packing hours and hours of sleep the past 4 days, i ended up having 3 hours of sleep on the last night before my week begins.

zack is working day shift so i woke up more perky than usual.. cos 1) i dun have to cast him looks of envy where he is all snuggled under the quilt til the cows come home and 2) i got a ride to the train station.

Surprisingly, a perverse part of me was looking forward to going to work. 3.5 days closeted at home was getting boring. The highlight of my long break was Sunday afternoon *grins*

Our reunion dinner at Himawari on Sunday.. Marky raves about the shabu shabu. Then it was El-Shiekh. Yes again.. dun they ever get bored. Haha.

Done with all our visiting. Yes, i survived it. CNY has never been a festive period for me. Never. Don't ask why. Year after year, i grumble i pout i grumble somemore.. for that 2 days. This year, we decided to escape to BINTAN! But... we were too late!! *bang head on wall* EVERYWHERE is fully booked. So we cant ferry out, fly out, cruise out.. Nado. Zilch. Asked my darling Godma to create some magic (she manages a travel agency) but she said we can only walk out. ARGHHHH!!! Hai.... Zack promises me we'll go somewhere next year.

Oh well, i survived it so... yeah.

Nevertheless, we had a lovely time on the eve. Had reunion dinner at Aunty Emily's with all of zack's cousins. Then we made our way to Marina Square to catch a flick - Ah Long Pte Ltd (it's hilarious!). Had 3 hours to kill so strolled along Esplanade. Niceeeee........ :) followed by bowling, arcade and starbucks.

Everywhere is closed.. NTUC, foodcourts, markets, shopping malls.. etc. No newspapers at our doorstep this morning too! It's like the world just stop for CNY.. tsk tsk. Kinda crazy i feel.

We managed to stock up for this period so yours truly will be donning her apron tonight. My love requested for steak so that he shall get. Just did the laundry.. weather is great for laundry.. breezy and sunny.

Bowling was fun! we are aching on our left side (me - butt and hip, zack - shin)! hahahaa... Zacky went for a massage last night while i lay dead to the world on the bed. We had 2 games each and guess wat?!! I won the 1st round! But zack wiped my cocky laughs with all his strikes.. Wat the.....! It's okay... all that winning gets a tad boring after awhile.. I LET him win... ha. Ooo.. did i mention he has this incredibly sexy bowling stance! It's this shoulders-hunched-butt sticking out-ball at right hip' stance. Ohlala! *SLURP*

in a blink of an eye.. i'm at 'sunday afternoon'.

just ordered macs and looking forward to a good afternoon of reading (i've not read for the last 2 days!), munching mac nuggets and perhaps some napping.. while it rains outside.. shioks! Just msged zack on my intended afternoon.. "dun be jealous ya" hehe. My love is out saving lives. A hubby gotta do what a hubby gotta do. And a wife gotta do what a wife gotta do. Hahaha!

So we had a lovely weekend doing what we always do. I came home a tad late on friday cos made 'my rounds' at Vivo after work. Finally i bought a pair of heels to replace the one i'm wearing out. Long overdue! I dun easily find shoes i like enough to part my money for.

Came home close to 8pm! Zack had a long night then an OIC meeting that morning so i didnt wake him to fetch me. Had plans to catch a midnight show but guess what? We tumbled into bed and didnt wake til 12.30am!! Too late for the movie. Craving for some frog legs so we made our way to Geylang... yes at 1am!

G7.. our favourite spot at Geylang. You'll be interested to know there is a slight jam at Geylang at 1.30am! Needless to say why. Zack aptly refers Geylang as the cancer of Singapore. You have gluttony (good food) and lust (sex).

Full bellies and happily sated.. we went around the lorongs to look see look see. Plenty of PRC women.. covering a few lorongs, i would think they make up the bulk of the red light district 'association'. Some are pretty good looking with big dang dangs. But zack said his colleague told him they only look good but suck at their job. Just so you know. Haha.

.....and 4.30am found us at home watching 'Ghost Hunters'!

SATURDAY

Didnt sleep in cos we got a lunch date with Himmah and Farina at Seoul Garden. They got vouchers so gave us a treat. So nice of them :) We then headed to El Sheikh and spent the evening there. I love their Mango Ayran! Always enjoyed our time with Himmah and Farina. Farina and i hit off well and yak about the things women always yak about while Himmah and Zack talkshop. Marky and Fu joined us at 8.30pm after their class. Zack and i had plans to go to Ikea to get our babies their beds but when Marky and Fu arrived, we decided to leave that for another day. Being an understanding wifey, i know zack would like to hang out with them but he said he didnt mind going to Ikea. It's ok, we're going to Ikea tomorrow after our lessons at SSDC! :)

WE ARE GOING TO BANGKOK IN MARCH!!!!!!

The latest Nora Robert's trilogy and Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere!!! I'm so totaly psych! started on Blood Brothers last night while my love is out saving lives. Yeah the things that excite me. I get way more psych over books than the usual stuff like clothes and shoes. Of crse i do get all juiced up after a good shopping buy but when it comes to a good book........ man oh man. Now i got 2 good books!!!! I'm over my head! :D

and... and.... 2 more in-death books in tow! it's gonna be soooo awesome!
