so i was reading this book in the train this morning... came to this part when Stella was having this conversation with Roz.. on her wedding preparation and jitters.. which i tot was really apt.

"... you're nervous because you're excited and you're happy, and because you're the type who'll worry over every detail. Worry especially when it's important."

sounds like me *grins*.. been walking around with a grin on my face, thinking of my big day.. soaking up the excitement and anticipation.. (my dear friends offering to accompany me on my dress / shoes shopping.. even dear vincent offered! he's so sweet (and gay) and the next minute, feeling my stomach drop to my toes, whenever i think about the enormity of what's gonna happen in 9 days time.. it's a HUGE step and definitely nerve wrecking..

was trying on my little mini wedding gown for zack last night and it finally hit him! and he went.. "gosh.. i'm really getting married!" ahahaha... "yes darling.. 10 days time and you better think carefully... think reeeeeaally hard!"

then i had a bad (and funny too) dream last night... dreamt that on my big day.. things screwed up BIG time!

1) my makeup artist couldnt make it and at 2.15pm (15 mins to the ceremony), i was running all over the place in my bridal dress, with my hair flying all over finding someone to do my makeup

2) i forgot my shoes (yup, a bare-footed bride)

3) there's no bouquet... someone forgot to get the flowers

4) and lastly... throughout the dream, i dun remember seeing the groom! *gasps*

murphy's law: anything that can go wrong, will!

*gulps*


stop.. i'm freaking myself out :D

today..

1: got my name and wedding announcment flung on air .. thanks to ant and he only told me about it 2 hours after it was aired *roll eyes*

2: collected my dress!

3: off for an interview.. in 10 mins *gulps*

...zack's bike broke down

the gear cable snapped and couldnt get started when we stopped at the junction just outside Cathay, The PictureHouse. So called the tow truck and all.. thank goodness it happened then and not when zack's on the way to work or riding on a highway which will be mighty dangerous.. thank God for little blessings!

and of course we get to sit at the back of a tow truck! (its really only a lorry)

it got us pretty excited.. like 2 small little kids.. relieving our childhood :D we couldnt resist taking some pics.. with a horde of cars looking on.. hahaha.. bum was aching by the time we reached the workshop @ Ang Mo Kio, was a good thing i got a sizable amount of rear cushion.. hah!

got the bike fixed, and before meeting andy and leanna for supper at Tao Kee, we went to Pierce Reservoir.. to inject a little romance.. was a nice quiet night though rather windless.. not much stars and some lights in the sky (which zack claimed were UFOs.. yeah right) i reckon was from NDP rehearsal at Indoor Stadium.. Had been ages since we last went there.. we were just a couple dating then.. now we were only 2 weeks away to getting hitched! *smile*

should i conform?

and go for something more traditional and 'normal'...

the dress.....

i found it! i found it! i found it!!!!

its gorgeous... its ommmphhh.. its outstanding... and i loveeeee it to bits! but i've not bought it yet.. hehe... reserved it for 3 days to 'think it through'.. cannot be impulsive mah.. cos it aint cheap so must go back and chew on it... did i mention i loveeeee it?!!! its... hmmm.... not white nor pink or any pastel colors which brides usually favour.. i simply cant imagine myself in those sweet pastel satin dresses..

saw a bcbg piece online and fell in love with it.. but it was going at a whopping price of USD368 which was completely way out of my budget.. went to blum yesterday with Kel to check out if they carry it.. they didnt and no dresses caught my eye.. i tried only 1 dress while Kelley tried 6! and she bought one... hahaha... thats Kel for u...

we then went on to Marina Square... Miso has beautiful dresses.. more on gowns / cocktail dresses which weigh a ton! (money wise as well) none was suitable.. very elaborate with all the beadings and sequins.. and i'd prob look like some getai singer.. combed other shops and it was the usual ding dong..

awright.. i know.. i'm really picky but there's simply no click... when i see it, i'll just know it

just when we wanna call it a night.. we passed Warehouse and decided to take a look.. and there it was... the minute i saw it, i grabbed Kel and said, "Kelley, i want this!"

and zack wasnt the least bit interested in my enthusiatic explicit description of the dress... all he asked was... "so how much is it?"

oh darling.... money is really immaterial.. and its never good to talk about money... now dun worry your sweet head over it.. muaakksssss...

we might be able to go for a lil' honeymoon!!!

pics are fresh from the oven.. in other words, taken less than 2 hours ago. Just settled down from all the cleaning and washing.. this year's Fathers' Day dinner was held at Zack&Ju's home!

so we had pizzas.. mango pudding.. banana walnut cake.. lychee & peach dessert.. ate til we nearly burst.. and there's still a tupperware of Rendang in the fridge (i'm supposed to be on a diet)

that's Adrian.. me.. Zack.. Uncle Lincoln (zack's dad) and Aunty Elsie (zack's mum).. Irene's at home working.. poor gal.. so we packed some pizzas back for her..

oh, here's another one with Benjy (zack's cousin) and his gf, Grace.

looking at the pics and once again, i found it fascinating how kids take after their parents.. some kids take after their dad's upper face and mum's lower features and some vice versa.. some looks exactly like one parent..

in this case, Zack takes after dad while Adrian takes after mum.. not much guesswork needed here... and yet you can tell they are brothers.. its pretty cool ah...

asked zack who he thought i looked like.. cos he saw pics of my mum and finally saw my father on wednesday.. he tot i looked like neither of them.. ahahahaha! well, he's right... i dunno who i got my eyes from.. nor my nose.. but my smile came from my mum... or maybe.. (one of my many fantasies).. they picked me up from somewhere and i've got a story as long and winding as jack's beanstalk..

i've seen enough to know the phrase "blood is thicker than water" doesnt always ring true.. i'm jaded enough to believe it can be total crap. i've seen first hand how a father can turn his back on his flesh and blood for a woman.. leaving them to fend for themselves.. and loyalty is just another word in the dictionary

then i looked at zack's family.. how his dad pats him on the back when he goes home.. their umpteen warnings about riding.. "both of u dont keep talking while riding pls.." how his brother will come from bukit panjang to hougang to help him move his stuff to punggol.. with just a phonecall, no hesitations. There.. this is family.. i see that and smile.. i'm not jaded enough to not appreciate that..

perhaps i've come to a point where i realised that at the end of the day, the only person you can depend on is yourself.. and God (always God). Zack always wraps me in his arms and say, "you'll always have me.." and as much as i would like to burrow deep into his arms and feel protected.. thats not the way i want. Cos what leaves me when he's not there? i want to know that when all fails, when the world come crashing down.. i can stand strong on my own 2 feet.. not on someone else's arm

decided to try my hands at gardening so went to the florist to get a pot of morning glory.. but was told that its not in demand so the orchard doesnt carry it. Thats ok, cos there's a better alternative.. i can plant it myself!

so i bought a pot, potting soil and a packet of seeds. Got down to work this morning and planted my seeds.. while zack watched by.. and said to my plant.. "may you rest in peace.." humph!

(i'll show you boy! *thumb nose* my plant will bloom and you'll have to eat your words and my flowers too! and i shall have the last laugh... bleah!)

see the plant on the left? that's zack's.. he bought his from ikea (note: i'm planting mine from scratch) and the flowers dropped after the 3rd day *guffaws*... talk about black fingers..

so now, we've got:

ROM packages.. hand bouquet.. etc.. they seem so lost, blur and frantic.. and they have like 2 months to prepare (!!).. and i wonder.. am i missing something? cos a month to my day.. i'm still pretty unfazed
